SQL DBA Redmond, WA Duration: Open ended Job Description/ Responsibilities/ Day to Day Activities: • Looking for someone who can spec out the hardware needs for
the SQL systems. • Working with customers to ensure optimal operation of SQL and
related services (backup, monitoring, performance, high
availability, etc.) • Investigation of failed infrastructure systems and
services • Communicate effectively with engineering, test, and product
development groups to define the impact of outages and technical
requirements of development. • Documenting processes and challenges, while offering
suggestions for solutions and improvement, some code review
required • Resource allocation enumeration, planning, and forecasting • Troubleshooting performance and connectivity issues relating
to SQL Servers Required Skills: • Experience with SQL queries, performance, backup, and
maintenance • Experience with SQL Server 2005 and/or SQL 2008/R2 • Working knowledge and experience using Hyper V • Working knowledge and experience of SAN and DAS storage
solutions • Working knowledge and experience administering Windows
Servers • Ability to effectively multi-task in a changing
environment • Solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to troubleshoot
software, hardware, and networking issues • Good understanding of security groups, OU’s, and user
