Grant and Contract Accounting has an outstanding opportunity for a
Budget Fiscal Analyst GCA Campus Services Budget Set Up. Working
within the Grant and Contract Accounting (GCA) department, the
Budget Fiscal Analyst is responsible for processing complex fiscal
analysis and financial reporting of federal and nonfederal grant
and contract accounts. This includes projecting, analyzing,
planning, interpreting and reviewing fiscal operations involving a
variety of disciplines in order to prepare billings, reports, and
reconciliations. Manage grant and contract budgets from setup to
closeout within a team configuration. Make recommendations for and
assist in the development of fiscal policies, procedures, system
enhancements to improve the efficiency of GCA office work flow. GCA
has actively adopted the culture of Lean process improvement and
continual change. All staff participate in team collaborations on a
daily basis to identify and implement process improvements.
---Review award documents related to new awards, renewals,
supplements, revisions for new and existing grant and contract
---Review a variety of awards to ensure they have been properly
reconciled, are in compliance with award guidance, invoicing and
reporting requirements have been satisfied, and properly closed.
Verify all special conditions are documented. Review accounting
system for accuracy and completeness.
---Adhere to GAAP accounting principles in processing
---Identify and resolve issues prior to entering information in the
UW's Financial Accounting System. Investigate discrepancies and
independently resolve errors.
---Perform complex analysis on accounting transactions involving
multiple processes across multiple UW systems. Read and interpret
grant and contract agreements to ensure compliance.
---Analyze, summarize and report on complex fiscal data in
preparation for and in response to sponsor requirements and

including EDW, FIN, BGT, PAS, HEPPS, Financial Desktop, the General
Ledger and the GCA Accounts Receivable subsidiary system for
sponsored projects to perform complex fiscal and/or business

implement process improvements. Implement process improvements and
apply best practices approach to problem solving and customer
---Participate in daily efforts to streamline the post-award
administration process and enhance partner relationships using

funding agencies, to exchange information and to resolve issues
related to sponsored research issues.

Investigators, campus departments, Financial Accounting department,
the UW Office of Sponsored Programs, internal GCA teams, and others
to resolve issues related to payments.
---Provide timely guidance and assistance to campus departmental
personnel on procedures related to University, state and federal
processes, procedures, and requirements.
