Our growing engineering team is on the hunt for a senior engineer to lead energy retrofit and design projects. Your passion, experience and endless curiosity are the missing piece in our drive for transformative change. We recognize and value your proven leadership in high-performance buildings across: Critical Design & Delivery:

  • Design within K-12, higher education, state/local government, healthcare and other markets.
  • Optimized design across heating, ventilation and other building systems
  • Indoor environment and air quality
  • Human comfort and wellness strategies
  • High-performance retrofits Department Management:
    • Managing the complete sales, design, preconstruction, and construction support process for a design-build project while balancing building owner satisfaction.
    • Exercising global decision making by considering other departments within the company, such as project management, sales and estimating, accounting, purchasing, etc.
    • Coordinating with construction managers and sales leads throughout the life of the project.
    • Supervising, mentoring, training and evaluating members of the design and engineering team.
    • Determining staffing needs to meet design schedules. Engineering and Design:
      • Taking control and ownership of design, equipment selection, assessment of owner needs and initiating the development of an overall design plan.
      • Brainstorming to shake the status quo, challenge concepts and develop innovative design approaches.
      • Designing and proposing recommendations to optimize energy efficiency.
      • Coordinating with design teams on structural architectural, civil, electrical and energy.
      • Performing a variety of early design tasks to help teams determine a preferred project direction.
      • Preparing design budget proposals for a variety of project types that appropriately reflect the effort required on any given project.
      • Planning, scheduling, supervising and delegating to other design staff. Client Relations:
        • Attending early meetings with owners/developers/general contractors.
        • Establishing a line of communication with customers and upper management.
        • Enhancing department and organizational reputations by participating in professional groups critical to our business lines. Experience Preferences:
          • Eight (8) years of experience in mechanical design, engineering or related field required with a focus on high-performance buildings.
          • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or engineering or equivalent work experience required.
          • P.E. registration is required.
          • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit required.
          • Working knowledge of energy model results analysis required.
          • Working knowledge of total cost of ownership and or life cycle cost analysis required.
          • Experience in managing a design team is preferred.
