One of our clients, a cutting-edge leader in manufacturing, is looking for a diligent staff accountant to join their accounting department. This role includes end to end ownership of the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits.. The hired candidate will also be assisting the controller as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes.
To be successful as a staff accountant, candidates should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). An outstanding staff accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. We are seeking a go-getting with a propensity for learning and growing within our client's organization. The company is in a rapid growth environment so ideal candidate would be looking to progress within a growing finance team and take on additional areas of responsibility.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of accounts receivable process including issuing invoices, producing statements of account, collections on overdue accounts and account reconciliation
  • Ownership of accounts payable process including processing ACH, Wire and check payments, resolving any vendor discrepancies, vendor maintenance and year end 1099 forms.
  • Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
  • Contributing to the development and review of standard operating procedures across the company. This includes process improvement for inventory, CAPEX, lease accounting processes
  • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
  • Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Assisting the Controller and VP Finance as needed.
    Staff Accountant Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
    • 4+ years of accounting experience.
    • 2+ years of second-tier ERP experience (example: NetSuite).
    • Proficient Microsoft Excel user (formulas,V-lookup, sumifs, pivot tables etc.)
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Working knowledge of GAAP.
    • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
    • Good problem-solving and time management skills.
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
