Job Description:

The primary purpose of this role is to position and trade the company s underlying commodity positions within the risk limits established by the Board of Directors, across products, markets, and maximize the risk/return opportunity of The Enterprise (Darigold and NDA members) by using cash, futures, options, and OTCs. The focus of this role is to help the Head of Trading and Risk Management manage our book of business and position our 25 million pounds of daily raw milk.This position works closely with a wide range of key personnel such as Head of Trading, sales, and the greater commercial organization. This role and its team are key in guiding the company perspective and viewpoint with respect to global commodity and domestic products, such as milk powders, whey, cheese, and butter. fluid milk, lactose/permeate; and is also responsible for project management.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):In order to be successful in this role you should have the experience and skill to be able to do the following:Contribute to the achievement of annual trading goals within trading limits by utilizing approved tools.Successfully manages positions within risk limits.Determine positions for cash and derivatives, as appropriate.Provide member (farmer) and customer hedging and risk service as appropriate.Combination of hedging via spreads, cash, and derivatives positions.Communicates with and operates within the strategies outlined by the Head of TradingEssential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties as assigned):Assist in managing communication, decisions, and execution of trading.Assist in producing weekly decks for management and market meetingsAssist in identifying dairy market trends and use the dairy futures market to limit or mitigate risk across the dairy trading portfolio.Ensure key dairy commodity risks are properly identified and evaluate forward looking risk measures.Align risk management strategies to meet companywide goals.Provide action plans based on market insights and analysis.Stay up to date on industry best practices, competitive landscape, and hedging tools.Maintain a tier A vibrant trading network for information advantage.Ability to challenge consensus views and resilience when faced with adversityWillingness to be available after-hours and on weekends to monitor market developments, assist customers/team members, and any other issues that may come upSelection CriteriaKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong knowledge of commodity and financial markets including futures, options, swaps, and forwardsProven analytical skills and an ability to interpret complex data in meaningful and relevant ways to provide sound strategic recommendations; as well as excellent problem-solving skills.Ability to work as a team player and work with a cross functional team.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.Ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.Highly motivated with a rigorous attention to detail and commercial mindsetAbility to multi-task and prioritize deliverablesStrong written and verbal communication skillsEducation, Experience and Certifications:Bachelor s degree in Finance, Economics, International Business, Math or a related field5-7 years of experience in trading and commodity risk managementDemonstrated track record of delivering trading results in a P&L driven environment.Proven success working with and influencing a cross functional team to reach companywide initiatives.Commodity market experienceSpecific experience assessing market risk and applying risk management strategies.Corp1Our vision at Darigold is to Lead Dairy Forward - achieving that vision requires cultivating and supporting a team with varying backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
