HDR currently has an opening for an experienced project coordinator to join our growing Pacific Northwest team. This position will primarily support HDR's regulatory and FERC licensing team working on hydropower projects regionally and nationally. The ideal candidate is a responsible self-starter, excels at tracking and synthesizing technical, policy, and regulatory information in clear and concise written and verbal presentations, and is willing to learn new tasks. We are looking for a candidate that is team oriented, client focused, and flexible. The Project Coordinator will work with project teams to prepare licensing documents, manage scheduling and documentation of consultation with agency and stakeholder personnel, and support project management activities. This position will provide project and administrative support for hydropower licensing and other environmental planning and permitting projects. The Senior Project Coordinator will provide support to our hydropower practice group including environmental scientists, regulatory specialists, and engineers. An ideal candidate will have experience supporting federal, state, and local permitting, and FERC licensing. - Primary Responsibilities

  • Technical editing and document production - requires a strong attention to detail, proficiency in MS Word, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat, and the ability to understand the deliverable in terms of the project, client need, and what is scoped. The ability to be available immediately, meet tight deadlines and be prepared to address last minute modifications. Proofreads and edits document for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format. Determining consistency and clarity of style within technical reports. Able to perform editing and/or rewriting of technical reports and documents for approval of author. Combine and track edits from multiple authors and maintain proper version control of documents. Interacting with technical staff to clarify reports, meaning, format and style of work.
  • Work with multiple project managers to apply project documentation and company quality assurance guidelines and procedures for project development and execution.
  • Maintain accurate administrative files and document paperwork at beginning and throughout the life of projects. Work with project managers to efficiently and accurately set up their projects and track that all initiation requirements are met. Develop and maintain project guides and provide information and support for project reviews.
  • General administrative support - this may include requests to assist with marketing support, meeting arrangements, travel coordination, light accounting, and meeting support such as typing and tracking meeting minutes. -
  • Administrative support for projects- this includes maintaining accurate files throughout life of a project, updating schedules using Microsoft Project and Excel, assisting project managers with project status, progress reports and invoicing requirements, attending and documenting meetings, tracking documents, and assisting with report deliverables where necessary.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external clients regarding project inquiries or department procedures/requirements. Occasional travel may be required depending on project assignments. Qualifications Required Qualifications
    • Associate degree in natural sciences, public policy, business, management or related fields, or combination of education and relevant experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years of technical writing, document management, and administrative experience.
    • Exceptional time management skills.
    • Professional communication skills and the ability to coordinate and interact with co-workers and client staff in multiple locations.
    • Strong conceptual, organizational, problem solving, critical thinking, and research abilities are necessary.
    • Experience with MS Office Suite required.
    • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19. This position requires onsite client visits, or, this position will be co-located at the client site. The client requires all contractors/consultants/vendors who work or visit the site be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 Preferred Qualifications
