Half is looking for a Controller. The permanent Controller position
is situated in the Seattle, Washington area. In this role, it will
be critical for you to plan and direct all accounting operational
functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial
data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate
accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental
staff. Candidates who can effectively manage self and others within
strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while
also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge

- Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and
systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide
improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as
needed
- Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance
sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
- Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and
most methodologies
- Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly
billing and other cash management techniques
- Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job
duties
- Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each
month
- Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as
accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
- Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual
budget and forecasts
- Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient
and effective firm-wide operation possible
- Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and
monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
- Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that
they meet client expectations Requirements - Self-starter and
strong ethical standards
- Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller
preferred
- Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective
presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
- High attention to detail
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business
related field
- Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business
Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are
preferred
- Prior work done in public accounting is desired
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to
prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining
diligent
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Wide ranging experience with cash forecasting
- Earlier work involving forecasting
- Experience with journal entries
- Good understanding of variance analysis
- Comprehension of fixed assets
- Hands-on experience with Review Journal Entries
- Proven knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
- Previous experience working with Job Cost
- Solid understanding of Process Improvement
- Skills in capital assets
- Daily Bank Deposits experience desired
- Quality experience with Treasury Management
- Payroll experience
- Experience with financial reporting
- Wire transfer experience
- Well-founded grasp of Accounts Receivable (AR)
- General familiarity with Leadership Skills
- Practical knowledge of general ledger
- Prior experience with auditing
- Expertise in Monthly Reconciliation
- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business
deadlines
- Excellent technology, analytics and management experience
