UW Facilities (UWF) is one of the largest and most diverse administrative units on the Seattle campus supporting a large urban campus. UWF manages the University's buildings, infrastructure and land, with more than 1,100 employees in a variety of fields. Our teams can be organized into four main groups: Finance & Administration, Asset Management, Operations, and Business Intelligence. UWF Finance & Administration provides financial, procurement and sourcing, human resources, and communications leadership to all of UW Facilities (UWF).

Finance & Administration has an outstanding opportunity for an Analyst, Finance & Business Services to provide financial data analysis to the Director of Finance, Assistant Directors of Finance, and Senior Financial Analysts. The Analyst gathers data from multiple sources, analyzes the data, and prepares financial reporting and analysis to support business opportunities and projects. The analyst will focus on the Minor Capital reporting requirements and will follow projects from inception to close. In addition, this position will work with a team of senior analysts on a variety of budgeting, reporting, and ad hoc requests to provide a wide variety of projects throughout the UWF organization. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Finance overseeing campus operations.

Position Complexities

The Analyst position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work with different systems to gather data for reporting. The position will interact with a variety of people within UWF to understand unit operations and project costs. The Analyst may face tight deadlines and challenges. Financial reports need to be prepared at various levels of detail for different audiences. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Finance and requires a flexible, collaborative person with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Work directly with the Director of Finance, Assistant Directors of Finance, and Senior Analysts to provide financial analysis and reporting on various UWF projects, with an emphasis on Minor Capital.

Financial Reporting (40%)

--- Analyze minor capital project status using multiple UW systems (AiM, PAS, Workday in the future).
--- Create and maintain workorders in AiM including: budget adjustments, work order status changes, close work orders, and liquidate encumbrances.
--- Transfer costs between work orders and budgets in AiM.
--- Prepare monthly reporting of minor capital projects and identify project surplus or deficit status.
--- Work with Campus Stewardship team to review minor capital projects and provide project analysis as requested.

Other Financial Analysis (60%)

--- Analyze the rechargeable work performed by campus operations and maintenance staff, providing reporting comparing targets and actual activity trends.
--- Develop the annual labor rate calculation files for several Facilities groups for rechargeable projects.
--- Analysis of costs to deliver utilities to recuperate operating costs from auxiliary units.
--- Provide support in developing annual operating budgets for operations units.
--- Monthly internal financial reporting input for several Facilities units.
--- Support the transition to Workday as the UW financial system.
--- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements include:

--- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or closely related field.
--- Three or more years' experience in finance, accounting, or related field.
--- Demonstrated experience in analyzing and presenting financial information from multiple sources.
--- Proficient user of Microsoft Office software suite, with a strong background in Excel.
--- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
--- High degree of professionalism, integrity and ownership needed; must be customer-committed and results oriented.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Desired:

--- Working knowledge of the UW financial accounting systems.
--- Experience with Tableau or SQL.
--- Knowledge of Workday, Asset Works, PM Web or Yardi software.
