to benefit Earth. As the Manager of Flight Simulation for SSD, you
will report to the Sr. Director of Flight Sciences and manage those
responsible for staffing our various SSD projects and programs.
This key leadership role will advance the future of Blue Origin
platforms by developing and applying innovations across multiple
configurations, autonomous systems, propulsion technologies, and
manufacturing processes, while meeting high standards of safety and
quality. We are looking for someone to apply their technical

required! Responsibilities:
- Build and support a high-performance team centered around
defined and sound engineering practices with clear goals and
responsibilities
- Responsible and accountable for directing the technical team to
develop and deliver best in class Flight Simulation support to the
SSD portfolio
- Manage a team of diverse engineers to develop aerospace
multidisciplinary models and simulations using platforms ranging
from desktop computers, software-in-the-loop labs, to on-vehicle
simulation s
- Define, analyze, and review simulation software requirements to
meet defined and anticipated testing and training needs
- Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor a diverse, equitable, and
inclusive team. -
- Manage your direct reports' professional development (e.g.,
performance reviews, compensation and promotion management, routine
one-on-one development conversations) and coach them on
performance. -
- Lead and generate technical work products by providing
technical leadership of the highest caliber. -
- Monitor technical progress, requirements, budget, schedule,
deliverables and risks as well as review recommendations for change
with program management. -
- Owner of business rhythm reviews and communication paths to
senior management supporting program manager and business teams,
including program management reviews weekly/monthly, finance
reviews, long term forecasting business plan, and project deep
dives -
- Utilize good engineering and business judgement to ensure the
most efficient and effective product is designed, manufactured,
procured, tested, qualified, and delivered. -
- Develop product roadmaps, including incorporation of
technologies, working with internal and external customers to
understand how your product integrates to meet current and future
mission needs. -
- Work independently towardlong-range objectives without
appreciable direction and determine the technical objectives of
assignments to develop approaches to solutions. -
- Embody, promote, and coach the Blue Origin leadership
principles.
- Work and foster a collaborative environment within a team and
across multiple supporting organizations and other engineering
disciplines. - Qualifications:
- Minimum of BS degree in Mechanical -Engineering, Electrical
-Engineering, -Aerospace Engineering, Physics, -Applied
Mathematics, -or Computer Science -
- Demonstrated -experience -in development of -air or space
-vehicle and/or physical systems modeling and simulation to
determine outcomes in controlled environments
- Demonstrated experience performing, managing and delivering
qualified coding and programming, and design testing platforms and
programs.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering procedures and protocols
for model verification and validation
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing integrated
Hardware/software in the Loop simulator Experienced -with Model
Based Development paradigms and system/parameter identification
techniques -
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional
relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion -
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylum. - Desired:
- MS or higher degree in Mechanical, Electrical -or Aerospace
Engineering -
- Familiar with MATLAB, Simulink and other COTS products for
building low-level simulations -
- Solid system engineering and configuration management
skills
- Demonstrated capability to develop (i.e. modeled or written)
software that is used for confirming functionality, failure mode
testing or equivalent simulation -
- Simulation software development in a relevant subject matter
area: robotics, electrical systems, propulsion, navigation, general
aerospace flight control
- Familiarity with verification, validation, and certification of
simulations and models -
