UW MEDICINE PHARMACY SERVICES has an outstanding opportunity for a
FULL-TIME AUDITOR - 340B DRUG PROGRAM. The 340B Drug Program
Auditor will monitor and evaluate the controls for the 340B Drug
Program for UW Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center. This
position requires knowledge of 340B Program Compliance, and the use
and management of 340B software systems. The Pharmacy Internal
Auditor will help ensure that UWMC and HMC are compliant with State
and Federal Regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
340B program audits:
* Perform patient record audits to assure patient eligibility for
340B medications.
* Audit patient records to determine prescription is written from
an eligible clinic or hospital location, by a covered entity
provider, and the prescription is related to the care received at
the covered entity documented in the EMR.
* Responsibility for the integrity of the 340B process from
ordering of the drugs from the wholesaler and receipt within the
various pharmacies, distribution to the various clinical and
patient care areas, and verification of administration and/or
wastage.
* Monitor ordering processes, analyze invoices, shipping and
inventory processes related to 340B drugs.
* Continuously monitor the process for changes and modifies
controls appropriately in response.
Implement and maintain pharmacy compliance auditing and monitoring
for the 340B drug pricing program.
* Monitor indicators and respond to correct deficiencies and
improve systems and processes.
Monitor for and follow-up on any identified variances or
discrepancies.
* Address compliance issues as identified.
* Insure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and
regulatory requirements.
* Monitor and audit compliance in-house and third-party
systems.
* Make recommendations on process improvements to ensure 340B
compliance.
* Review OPA database on a regular basis to ensure child site list
is accurate based on the Medicare Cost Report.
* Maintain knowledge of changing rules and regulations.
Perform audits and resolution, if necessary, to ensure the
integrity of the 340B contract pharmacy program.
* Maintain auditable records and appropriate follow-up for each
claim reviewed.
Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of
policies and procedures for UWMC/HMC 340B Drug Pricing Program.
* With the Pharmacy Administrative staff, evaluates new
technologies and software to improve and expand 340B program and
inventory systems.
* Modify controls in third-party software, policies and training
appropriately to adapt to these improvements.
Other:
* Perform 340B drug pricing program compliance education and
training of new and existing pharmacy staff.
* Verify dispense quantities and reversals are accumulated
correctly, and purchases are accurate for the contract pharmacy
programs.
* Develop and test control processes for the 340B program to meet
or exceed best practice.
DESIRED:
* Knowledge of the health care environment and electronic medical
records.
* Previous experience as a compliance analyst, auditor or Pharmacy
compliance team leader.
* Education and/or experience in development and implementation of
compliance programs. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Business or
Healthcare-related field
* Current Washington State Pharmacy Assistant or Pharmacy
Technician License
* 2-3 years of experience in Auditing and knowledge of the 340B
Compliance Program.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum
qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a
license/certification/registration
