This position will have substantial responsibility for the
direction and control of 1) Global Business Center sustainability
and supply chain initiatives including the launch of several new
federally funded grant programs that will add to the national
understanding of global business issues in these fields as well as
improve the application of strategies to address them 2)
Federally-funded grant programs designed to support the expansion
of global business research and teaching including the Global
Faculty/PhD fellows, Global Research Seminars, Collaborative Online
International Learning (COIL) and Business Language Instructional
Resources. 3) Assessment and evaluation of the Global Business
Center's progress toward goals, particularly the goals aligned with
federal grant funding 4) The Visiting Scholar Program which serves
approximately 15 sponsored faculty annually from top research
institutions outside the U.S. These scholars need support with
securing visas and integrating into a U.S. academic institution and
U.S. culture. 5) Global Business Center Operations including
Salesforce migration, finance transformation, office management,
budget management, event management, advisory board support and
student assistant hiring, training, and support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- Deliver sustainability and supply chain initiatives including
the launch of several new federally funded grant programs that will
add to the national understanding of global business issues in
these fields as well as improve the application of strategies to
address them. Assess the effectiveness and impact of each program.
Track and report data to fulfill federal grant obligations. (
--- Deliver federally-funded grant programs designed to support the
expansion of global business research and teaching including the
Global Faculty/PhD fellows, Global Research Seminars, Collaborative
Online International Learning (COIL) and Business Language
Instructional Resources. Assess the effectiveness and impact of
each program. Track and report data to fulfill federal grant
obligations.
--- Assess and evaluate the Global Business Center's progress
toward goals, particularly the goals and performance measures
aligned with federal grant funding. Manage annual federal grant
data collection and progress reporting. Partner with external
evaluators as required. Provide guidance to the Global Business
Center team in implementing the annual assessment plan.
--- Manage Center's budget and operations, including the federal
grant budget, general office management, event management
(budget/expenditure management, site selection, registration,
set-up, day of event details, food/beverage/AV, evaluation,),
advisory board support, and support of marketing and communications
initiatives.
--- Manage ongoing enrollment of Visiting Scholars from leading
research institutions outside the U.S. Ensure they have access to
necessary resources and valuable opportunities to learn about U.S.
culture and create connections to support their research and/or
experience as a visitor. Partner with Foster School faculty and
departments to guarantee consistent support and generate ideas for
additional services. Manage Visiting Scholar applications, visa
process and requirements, and develop orientation programming. (10%
of time)
--- Coordinate student assistant hiring, training, support, and
schedules. Manage 1 student assistant and provide constructive
feedback.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Business, International Relations, or similar
and a minimum of three years with program/project management in a
business or non-profit organization.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum
qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a
license/certification/registration.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
--- Ability to be an effective member of a team while managing
projects and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
--- Proficiency in MS Outlook/Work/Excel/Powerpoint.
--- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
--- Strong interpersonal skills.
--- Demonstrated ability to deal with faculty, students, the public
and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
--- Detail-oriented, ability to take initiative and work
independently.
--- Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks and shifting
priorities.
--- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
DESIRED:
--- Cross cultural experience including foreign language
skills;
--- Overseas work/study/travel experience;
--- Educational institution/university work experience;
--- Financial management experience including budgeting and basic
accounting;
--- Significant event management experience; Adobe Creative Suite
experience.
