Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing - Graduate Programs , in partnership with the national search firm , invites applications for a full-time,11-month, tenure track eligible Assistant/Associate Professor in the Lydia Green Nursing Program in the School of Health Sciences with an emphasis on Advanced Practice. We are seeking a highly qualified faculty member for classroom and clinical teaching in the Doctor of Nursing practice (DNP) program that includes pathways for family (FNP) and adult-gerontology-- -(AGNP) nurse practitioner and adult-gerontology clinical nurse specialist (AGCNS). Faculty will be teaching across the DNP curriculum including:

  • Advanced health assessment and clinical management of patients across the lifespan with an emphasis on primary care.
  • DNP core courses in practice inquiry, leadership, advocacy, and health promotion.
  • Oversight of clinical practicum and DNP projects. Teaching assignments will be based on credentials and areas of expertise. Opportunities to teach in the nursing undergraduate (BSN) program may also be available. Academic rank will-- -be determined based on qualifications. Responsibilities:-- -
    • Teaching responsibility for approximately 33 academic quarter credits.
    • Guiding DNP scholarly projects.
    • Coordination and supervision of graduate student clinical practicum.
    • Graduate student advising and mentoring.
    • Curriculum and course development.
    • Campus-related service. Requirements:
      • Earned doctorate in Nursing or closely related discipline (at least one graduate-level degree must be in nursing). SPU-- -may consider candidates with a master--------s in nursing currently enrolled in an accredited doctoral program with a planned graduation prior to date of hire.
      • Unencumbered license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) in the State of Washington by July 1, 2022 (or start date).-- -
      • Board certification (ANCC or AANP) as either a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP).-- -
      • At least two years of clinical practice as an NP. Successful candidates will demonstrate:
        • A commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship.
        • Skill in utilizing a variety of teaching methods and collaborative active learning.
        • Creative classroom and clinical teaching informed by evidence-based practice.
        • Engaged advising/mentoring of students in coursework and professional endeavors.
        • Active engagement in curriculum and program development.
        • Participation in program review and accreditation reporting.
        • Participation in faculty governance.
        • Commitment to high professional standards.
        • Excellent interpersonal, organization, and communication skills.
        • Experience in working effectively in a multicultural academic community.
