Position Summary
Supports the goals and objectives of the Office of Medical Student Education (OMSE) as a whole and provides a high level of service to teaching faculty, administrative staff, and students. Under the general direction of the Director, this position is responsible for the day to day management and operation of the program unit.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists the OMSE Deans and Director on various education collaborations.
  • At the direction and in collaboration with the Director, oversees the administration and the day-to-day management and operation of the program unit.
  • Serves as a liaison to the Associate Dean for Medical Student Education and principal liaison between students, faculty, staff, other departments and/or external contacts on the day-to-day operational and administrative issues of the program unit; facilitates meetings, special projects and problem resolution. Manages all logistics and timelines. Ensures project and course work plans and deadlines are followed and met.
  • Manages online course content via the learning management system (LMS).
  • Indirect supervision of program coordinators on multiple project tasks, including providing direction and guidance regarding procedures to be followed, prioritization and timelines.
  • Substantial contribution to the annual reviews of all program coordinators.
  • Directs multiple ongoing and ad hoc projects and committees related to OMSE initiatives. These projects may require project management, benchmarking, literature reviews, meeting management (including agenda setting and creation of minutes).
  • Collects and analyzes data; prepares scheduled and special reports; maintains program/project records and statistical information when applicable.
  • Contributes outcome data for program assessment and LCME related projects and reports.
  • Attends regular department meetings, staff meetings, morning huddles and other meetings as assigned.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned and assists as needed in the offices of OMSE and OE.

    • Ability to work independently in carrying out responsibilities delegated by Education Deans and Director, Office of Medical Student Education.
    • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment while achieving goals and meeting deadlines.
    • Able to work collaboratively within and outside the department with all levels of personnel and to seek guidance when needed from colleagues.
    • Possess strong organizational and planning skills, time management skills, problem solving skills and attention to detail while prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously/deadlines at once.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by maintaining a professional, productive and positive manner with internal and external contacts.
    • Ability to supervise the completion of tasks/projects that contribute substantively to the achievement of OMSE goals.
    • Be self-directed and work with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

      Required Qualifications

      Bachelor's degree or two years of college and five years of office experience.


      Salary Range
      $43,400.00 - $71,700.00 / Annually

      The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
