Job Title: Morning Assistant Teacher, Afternoon Lead Teacher

Reports To: Director or Assistant Director

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30pm- 5:30pm (40 hours)

Pay: $25/hour

The school's philosophy is inspired by the principles of Waldorf Education and shaped by the reverence for life and nature's own seasonal rhythms. The teachers provide a loving, joyful, nurturing environment and work together in guiding the children as individuals to understand their relationship to nature and their fellow human beings through play and hands-on experiential learning. Our lively preschool is a fun, busy environment and best suited for those who enjoy spontaneity, while maintaining order in the play spaces and consistency within the daily rhythm. We see their play as their work, and at the heart of their social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth and development.

*Job Summary*

In the morning, you will work directly under the Assistant Director getting mentored. Then you will work in the afternoon classroom as the lead.

This position works with the Director and Assistant Director team to create a safe and nurturing preschool environment following the Waldorf model of early childhood education and nature-based curriculum in line with the mission of the school. This position works collaboratively with the leadership team to coordinate school resources to develop and implement the curriculum and maintain an unencumbered environment for the care and education of young children. In addition, this position works with the entire TT community to imagine, explore, and execute the steps necessary to enable TT to move forward and thrive. This position, together with other staff, will ensure the grounds and building reflect a welcoming and safe environment for children and their families and, together with other staff, and will maintain cleanliness and good repair of the facility. This position is mentored by the Assistant Director.

*Essential Job Qualifications: *

--- ECE certificate or equivalent job experience

--- Prefer at least two years' experience working in early childhood education.

--- Have knowledge of child development as evidenced by professional reference, education, experience, and on-the-job performance.

--- First Aid/ CPR Infant/Child/Adult; Bloodborne Pathogens

--- Proof of negative TB test within the last 12 months

--- Waldorf training and experience /degree in Waldorf Education _is a bonus_

*Essential Responsibilities*

*- *Follow guidance and feedback from the Assistant Director

- Maintain a healthy daily rhythm schedule, prepare daily spaces, materials, and activities, and lead children in activities.

- Maintain open and cooperative communication with parents and families

- Attend school festivals and events

- Teach and model consistent, appropriate conflict resolution techniques in order that students and teachers may learn to discuss their problems and negotiate with each other.

- Ensure that there is always adequate adult supervision in compliance with licensing student/staff ratios.

- Ensure the safety and security of children and school grounds at all times.

- Report any suspicions of abuse or neglect to Director or Assistant Director.

- Assist with the care and appearance of the school grounds, building, and classrooms.

- Maintain cleanliness and order of the school yard and indoor space by cleaning at the end of each day.

- Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour
