We are seeking a passionate, student-centered 6th Grade English Language Arts Teacher to join our collaborative middle school team. The ideal candidate brings a love of literacy, strong instructional practices, and a commitment to integrating faith, critical thinking, and meaningful learning experiences for adolescents. Position Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based English Language Arts instruction, including reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and speaking/listening Design lessons that promote critical thinking, discussion, and close reading of diverse texts Foster a love of reading and writing through intentional literacy instruction and classroom culture Integrate Catholic values and social teaching into literature studies, writing, and classroom dialogue Support and reinforce Holy Family School’s Schoolwide Learning Expectations (SLEs) : Grow in Faith Achieve Academic Excellence Live as Christian Citizens Use data from assessments and student work to inform instruction and support growth Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners Establish a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment appropriate for middle school students Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding student progress and expectations Collaborate with grade-level and middle school colleagues to support student success and alignment Participate actively in school-wide faith experiences, assemblies, professional development, and community events Maintain accurate grading, lesson plans, and student records Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or related field (Master’s preferred) Washington State teaching certification or ability to obtain Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the mission of Holy Family School Practicing Catholic preferred (or strong respect for Catholic teachings and values) Strong background in literacy instruction and adolescent learning Excellent classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills Middle school or upper elementary ELA teaching experience preferred Salary Range $45,000-$75,000 Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
