Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Mid-Level Equipment & Tool Engineers to support the Fabrication Division of Boeing. -As an Equipment & Tool Engineer, you will support a variety of equipment that build parts and assemblies that fly on all different Boeing airplanes. A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out in the factory, interacting with mechanics, safety, and equipment services, and directly supporting the production system. In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity.

In locations where SPEEA representation applies, this job family will be covered by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.

Primary Responsibilities:
This is an equipment and automated tooling development, implementation, and improvement role. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):
Evaluates program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.

Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates, identifies robotics, automation or technology recommendations and system integration for equipment and tooling.

Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.

Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.

Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel.

Develops and implements work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation.

Performs studies and make recommendation for disposition of assets.

Task examples that you will be expected to work under general direction:

Focal procurement of equipment and tooling in the fabrication supply base

Lead improvements to existing equipment and tooling designs

Develop new equipment and tooling concepts and requirements

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. - 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
5 or more years' of experience working in an engineering discipline.

5 or more years' of experience with production systems in a manufacturing or engineering capacity.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in automation system controls.

Experience in Equipment or Tool Engineering.

Design and drawing creation.

Project management knowledge.

Strong communication skills.

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
