where you come in:We are seeking a seasoned Senior Structural
Engineer who can lead structural projects for our design and
construction teams from early design through construction.
Representative projects range from specialty structural scope
associated with new construction to prime structural consultant for
projects focused on mechanical equipment upgrades on existing
buildings. The ideal candidate would be a leader in our effort to
improve efficiencies in our design and construction process further
expanding our teams' capabilities. We are seeking an enthusiastic
design-build structural engineer, who has awareness of when and how
to economize with an emphasis on delivering projects that are
constructable and on budget. We are looking for someone excited to

Coordinates with internal design and construction teams.▪
Supervises, trains, and mentors project and lead engineers.▪
Exercises global decision making by considering other departments
within the company such as project management, salesProject
Management• Applies and coaches McKinstry Engineering standards and
procedures.• Provides engineering analysis to support sales and
early design efforts.• Defines, communicates, and manages scope,
design intent, and design process for direct supervisor review.•
Identifies and responds to changes in scope, schedule, budget, or
expectations.• Prepares, negotiates, and manages design budget•
Coordinates with construction and estimating teams to reduce
project costs.• Coordinates with external clients and
stakeholders.Design▪ Demonstrated mastery and able to fully
lead/manage a team in delivering structural engineering projects,
including providing structural drawings, analysis and calculations
for new and existing buildings as well as specialty structural
projects and multi-discipline coordination.• Overall responsible
for delivering designs to customers by reviewing and providing
feedback on engineering calculations and design drawings for design
intent, quality, precision, constructability• Design-build
structural engineer with focus on prefab and constructability.•
Identifies opportunities for process and technology improvements.•
Serves as Engineer of Record (Stamping Engineer).Customer
Relations▪ Attends early meetings with external customers and
stakeholders.▪ Represents McKinstry in the community and develops
new potential work.▪ Enhances department and company reputation by
generating opportunities to demonstrate leadership in industry
and/or regulatory groups, or the public forum▪ Develops and
maintains relationships with customers and upper
management.REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES• Must have
demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Lead
Engineer.• Bachelor's degree in engineering Master's preferred.•
P.E. registration is required, S.E. preferred.• Ten (10) years of
experience in structural design required; construction experience
preferred.• Advanced knowledge of structural analysis and
engineering software required.• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and
Revit required.• Experience in managing a design team is
