PURPOSE: -To be responsible for profitably, ethically, and
scientifically investigating events, systems, devices and/or
failures and to provide expert opinions. Assist the design team to
develop repair plans and specifications for building permit
application. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Surveys losses at residential and commercial buildings and loss
scenes.
- Conducts investigations to determine and document the scope of
damage.
- Performs engineering calculations and drafting for repair
design under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
- Investigates and assesses damages due to failures and
determines origin of failure for insurers and litigation
support.
- Determines and documents the failure analysis and causation of
failures.
- Works closely with other experts to produce detailed reports
outlining the cause and origin of losses and damages.
- Testifies in court as an expert witness on the analysis of
evidence and conclusions reached.
- Documents and maintains billable hours on a time and expense
basis for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects for
clients.
- Adheres to quality assurance measures and accreditation
standards as mandated by all applicable rules, policies, protocols
and procedures.
- Collaborates with Unified's national team of forensic experts
to leverage experiences and assist on projects. ADDITIONAL

- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Supports the organization's quality program(s). QUALIFICATIONS
Education & LicensingBachelor's degree in engineering from an
accredited college or university . - ExperienceSix (6) years of
experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
required. Experience with wood design required preferred.
Experience with engineering reporting preferred. Skills & Knowledge
