UMC Mukilteo, WA USA Applicants OnlyGeneral Position Summary: Develop energy conservation projects (mechanical, electrical, lighting, and water conservation) through on-site auditing, engineering analysis, understanding of energy/ mechanical systems and thorough communication and fact-finding. Assist with LEED certification on design/ build projects, including building modeling and recommendations for mechanical/ energy system design.Essential Job Functions:1. Develop detailed energy models for new and existing facilities.2. Assist development team in analyzing and determining the design that provides the best benefit and most closely aligns with client goals (energy usage, carbon reduction, lifecycle cost, etc.).3. Create platform for best delivering the value of the proposed project to the client.4. Work directly with Energy Services team in the development, procurement and execution of conservation projects.5. Assist in the development of energy conservation project scope and proposal development.6. Perform preliminary and detailed utility usage analysis for existing facilities.7. Perform preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify conservation opportunities.8. Identify & recommend specific conservation measures for existing facilities.9. Apply building energy modeling programs to develop building load & energy models.10. Work with design/build engineering team to develop LEED certification through application of modeling programs.11. Estimate and document energy & operational savings opportunities.12. Work with Project Managers & Estimating team to develop project cost estimates.13. Develop and document design concepts for project proposals. 14. Assist in development of project measurement & verification plans.15. Coordinate with utilities to obtain incentives & rebates.16. Identify project risks and work with project team members to mitigate.17. Maintain and control documents in compliance with UMC Standards as well as contractual compliance.18. Review contract drawings, detail drawings and specifications. 19. Assist in proposal development, bid process and the procurement of new work.20. Provide proactive, clear and timely communication to team members.21. Develop and maintain client relations.22. Be professional and uphold UMC Core Values.Secondary Job Functions: 1. Work directly with project managers and measurement & verification specialists to confirm estimated energy savings requirements.2. Assist Sr. Controls Specialist with Re-Commissioning efforts on existing facilities. Skills Required to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job: 1. Ability to lead the development of facility audit & energy conservation recommendations2. Strong analytical skills3. Ability to work within and foster positive working environment4. Ability to understand and communicate energy conservation concepts5. Advanced organizational and time management skills6. Attention to detail - errors & mistakes can result in significant financial losses7. Strong written and oral communication skills8. Strong work ethic - results driven9. Ability to multi-task job responsibilities10. Advanced computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project, Access, and AutoCADEducation Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job: 1. A minimum of one- year experience as an energy engineer 2. Engineering degree desired (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)3. Energy modeling experience a plus4. WA State Professional Engineering License preferred (not required)5. CEM Certification preferred6.
