Find your future with us.Our Product Development Structures Team is seeking a Senior Stress Analyst to join Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Design Center located in Everett, Washington.

This team is responsible for developing structural concepts and technologies that will ensure BCA is competitively positioned to address future market requirements. Future production system capability and stability as well as airplane performance are the focus areas for the team. The team selects opportunities for these focus areas from an open design space, and develop these ideas into architectures that future production systems can manufacture.

As a Senior Stress Analyst you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional team to mature structural concepts and configurations.
  • Create/modify methods of analysis to determine structural integrity for new and existing structural concepts.
  • Develop new software tools to enable multi-disciplinary analysis and optimization.
  • Develop, deploy, and support in-house and commercial application software to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks.
  • Develop, integrate and document complex or unique structural requirements.
  • Assists with investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Lead structural design and configuration development.
  • Lead trade studies to optimize structure and meet program requirements.
  • Integrate component-level structural models and perform integrated analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses in order to verify structural integrity.
  • Document structural analyses and data required to show compliance with Boeing, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Work under minimal direction.

    The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite in Everett, Washington.

    The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. - 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylum.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
    • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study.Mechanical, Aeronautical / Aerospace, Civil, Material Science, or select Structures engineering degree is required.
    • 12+ years of experience in the related field.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with leaders and colleagues in an engineering environment.
    • Knowledge of database management tools (e.g., Records Management Database, Access, Excel, SharePoint) and/or operating systems protocols.

      Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • Knowledge of Boeing's organizations, processes, program plans, policies, procedures, and products.
      • Knowledge of FAA and EASA requirements regarding specific commodities structure.
      • 14 or more years' experience related to Structures/Stress.
      • Ability to determine, apply, and perform arithmetic operations in order to solve complex problems.
      • Ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
      • Senior level of experience in analysis of metallic and/or composite materials.
      • Extensive knowledge of aircraft structure, materials strengths and properties, design criteria, loading conditions, and processes.
      • Ability to utilize engineering judgment in developing appropriate decisions considering decision criteria, implications, and possible consequences, to ensure product design integrity.
      • Willingness to travel in support of the program and customer.

        Typical Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree typically with 14 or more years' experience in an engineering classification.Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' experience in an engineering classification.PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification.ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

        In locations where SPEEA representation applies, this position will be covered by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.
