About the Job

We are currently seeking a mid-level Scientist in our Investigation and Remediation business area. Preferred disciplines are hydrogeology and geochemistry; engineers with relevant experience are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, well-organized experienced individual who can provide technical and strategic leadership on client projects related to contaminated sediment and upland sites. The candidate will have rich and varied experience in site investigation, have a high degree of technical competence, be able lead multidisciplinary teams, and effectively communicate with clients. The ideal candidate will take direction from clients and senior leadership and ensure that tasks are executed on time and accurately by the project team. Position requires some travel and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

You job functions will include, but not be limited to:

  • Performing/supporting remedial investigations and feasibility studies under CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA, and state equivalent programs, and surface and groundwater resource evaluations
  • Implementation of hydrogeologic and sediment investigations, including site characterization, preparation and implementation of field sampling programs, and data evaluations
  • Field sampling and/or sampling oversight
  • Project and task management
  • Communicating technical information to varied audiences (e.g., clients, staff, regulators, and stakeholders)
  • Technical report writing
    Qualifications

    Candidates should hold a B.S. or M.S. degree in hydrogeology, environmental science, environmental or civil engineering, or related technical field.
    • 7+ years of experience
    • Professional/Registered Geologist license (or LHG in Washington), or demonstrated progress towards licensure
    • Experience in environmental field sampling plan development and execution
    • Sediment experience strongly desired
    • Experience in project and client management
    • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training Certification desirable
    • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • A desire to grow intellectually and professionally
    • Demonstrated ability to work successfully within multidisciplinary and diverse teamsAnnual Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000

      An employee's total compensation package includes annual salary, company-subsidized (employee and family) medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) participation with a company-match of 1% to 4% of annual compensation, company-paid life and short- and long-term disability, paid sick leave (80 hours per year), paid vacation (15 days), paid holidays (9 days per year), and the potential for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance. Paid time off will be pro-rated to reflect part-time scheduled hours, if applicable.
