Through our platform, patients receive a holistic service offering to support their individual goals and needs.Job Summary:Navigating Cancer is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Patient Engagement team and be an instrumental team member in building the next generation of digital health solutions for oncology patients. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, mission-aligned senior engineer to make an immediate impact in the lives of cancer patients and within our team.As part of the Patient Engagement team, your role will involve helping develop top-of-the-line Progressive Web Applications such as our new Navigating Care Patient Portal. - An important aspect will be creating APIs into a Ruby on Rails application to expose needed clinic data to be consumed in our SvelteKit based fullstack framework. - You will also assist in JavaScript / Node based development for resolving such data and assist in contributing to our event-driven, AWS based microservices efforts.Responsibilities: -

• Engineer APIs in Ruby on Rails environment, and Engineer JavaScript based features in the front-end and BFF
• Find simple, scalable solutions to complex problems
• Be a strong advocate for continuous improvement, clean code, and software craftsmanship
• Practice agile development principles - continuous improvement, incremental and continuous delivery, in a Scrum environment.
• Excel at soft skills and communication which makes you very effective in highly collaborative team environments both with engineering members & non-engineering members alike.
• Be a compassionate mentor who loves to teach and learn from others.Qualifications:
  • 5+ years developing with Ruby on Rails
  • 5+ years with modern JavaScript/ES6 or TypeScript and HTML
  • Strong understanding of MySQL and Postgres relational databases
  • Experience in developing secure & cloud-focused solutions
  • Experience building RESTful API with Open API
  • Experienced with Git & GitFlow
  • Bias for action, motivated and experienced at making things happenNice to Have:
    • Experience with frameworks like React, Angular, Svelte, etc.
    • Experience working in Healthcare Tech
    • Java experience -
    • Experience or familiarity solving problems across multiple technology platforms -
