The Seattle Public Library, Central Library - Information Technology Division Regular, FLSA-exempt, full-time, hybrid position80 hours per pay period Annual Salary: $113,399 - $137,892 This classification is part of a bargaining unit represented by AFSCME. A pay period is two weeks. This recruitment will be open until the position is filled. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and architecting enterprise data warehouse and data repositories in support of analytics and enterprise system integration. This role involves implementing robust, reliable, and extensible systems to collect and store data from various sources. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining data integrations, partnering with customers for data reporting support, and participating in enterprise system implementations with third party vendors. Secondary responsibilities include maintaining, configuring, and managing database systems that support business operations. In addition to ensuring data accuracy, the ideal candidate will need to create and maintain database backups, troubleshoot database errors, and monitor system performance. You will work closely with technical staff to support key library operations including the integrated library system (ILS), circulation systems, various business functions on-prem and SaaS, and key data reporting capabilities. Job ResponsibilitiesCreate, manage, and architect enterprise data warehouse and data repositories in support of analytics and enterprise system integration. Design and develop data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into a central data warehouse or data store. Implement data quality checks, data cleansing, and transformation processes to ensure data is accurate, complete, and consistent. Create, manage, and architect APIs for data integration. Manage vendor relationships and support enterprise system implementations with third party vendors. Write server-side applications in C#/.NET. Write web applications using ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript, CSS. Expert understanding of SIP protocol for ILS messaging services. QualificationsA high school diploma or Graduate Equivalent Degree (GED) is required. Post-secondary education and/or relevant work experience will be considered in determining candidate competitiveness. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is strongly preferred. 5+ years of data warehouse experience. 5+ years of database management experience. 3+ years of data integration experience. 3+ years of C#/.NET experience. Experience in managing vendor relationships and supporting enterprise systems. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience working in an Agile environment.
