Senior Staff Analog Design Engineer (Reader IC), ready to bring
their skills to our fast-paced environment and fuel upcoming growth
and innovation. RAIN RFID reader systems have the capability to
identify and locate tagged items at long range and operate in
various 900 MHz bands worldwide (for example, the 902-928 MHz ISM
band in the U.S.). The systems must transmit a high-power carrier
of up to 6.5W while simultaneously demodulating the tiny signal
reflected from a distant tag, presenting a technology challenge
similar to high performance radar systems. Impinj gateways use a
reader engine paired with a phased antenna array to enable systems
to locate both stationary and moving items. You will be on a team
development next generation of our EX10 reader chip product line.
The team works in concert with the firmware and systems teams to
optimize and characterize new designs and undertake R and D for
future, sophisticated reader IC, systems, and algorithms.What you
will do:* Work with team to specify and architect advance RFID
reader IC's* Implement in low-power and low-voltage RF and Analog
circuits using advanced deep-submicron CMOS technologies.* Perform
design verification and production support tasks.* Work closely
with digital and software developers to develop an implementation
that meets system requirements.What you will bring:* Ability to
comprehend RF transceiver system level requirements and translate
into circuit level specifications. Excellent problem solving and
analytical skills are essential.* Hands-on experience in designing
various RF/Analog integrated circuits, such as LNA, Mixer, RF VGAs,
PA, VCO, PLL, Regulators, ADC/DAC, etc., in deep sub-micron CMOS
technologies.* Thorough understand of the fundamentals of phase
noise generation and mitigation.* Strong knowledge on IC design CAD
tools such as Spectre, Specter, EMX.* A thorough understanding of
physical layout requirement.* Lab testing skills to evaluate the
prototype units to the design specification. Software skill for
controlling lab equipment to create controlled, accurate.
repeatable, and presentable characterization results.* Motivated to
carry out a wide variety of tasks with clear communication and
presentation skills in a dynamic team environment.* MSEE + 5 years
or equivalent experience.Compensation and Benefits:The benefits
listed below may vary depending on the nature of your employment
with Impinj and the country where you work.The typical base pay
range for this role across the US is $133,000 - $173,000.
Individual base pay depends on various factors such as complexity
and responsibility of role, job duties, requirements, and relevant
experience and skills. Both market wage data and the mid-point of
the pay range is reviewed and used as the starting point for all
new hire offers. Offers are made within the base pay range
applicable at the time.At Impinj certain roles are eligible for
additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and
stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance.
In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales
incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms
of the plan and the employee's role. US based employees have access
