The Boeing Company is looking for a Flight Test Engineer to join our team in Seattle, WA or Everett, WA. We're looking for engineers who can function in a dynamic and exciting flight test environment. - Our engineers plan and execute testing of Boeing commercial and military derivative aircraft in order to assure product safety, performance, and regulatory certification. - Our engineers lead extensive test program efforts from creation of requirements through flight execution and reporting. We perform functions including test planning, configuration control, test conduct, as well as data collection and analysis. - If you have experience with these functions in a flight test environment we'd love for you to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced, high intensity environment with changing requirements. Positions include Flight Test Engineering Analysis (FTEA) and Test Program Integration (TPI). This position is primarily for 1st shift; however, periodic shift change may be required to support program objectives. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; associate, experienced and senior level flight test engineers. Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and verification of test methods
  • Develops detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan
  • Develops solutions to calibration systems problems of limited scope and impact
  • Designs test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements
  • Uses analytical tools to verify the design
  • Analyzes, processes, and formats data to customer requirements
    Reviews test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer
  • Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements
  • Presents test results internally
  • Archives data and reports
  • Trains others
  • Works under general direction This position is expected to be 100% onsite. - The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
    • Experience working in a flight test and/or airplane/systems integration lab test environment Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience -
      • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
      • Pilots license
      • Experience with one or more of the following areas: aircraft test design/planning, test execution, operation of airplane systems, test article configuration control, aircraft safety protocols, data collection and analysis, and/or airplane maintenance practices
      • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse engineering team in order to establish a consensus on complex technical issues Typical Education/Experience: - Associate (level 2) Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Experienced (level 3) Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Senior (level 4) Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
