Job Description:
Position Title: Aerospace Human Factors Design Engineer
Position Duties: Lead the aircraft user experience, with a focus on
ergonomics and comfort of the passengers and pilots. Support tasks
associated with cabin and flight deck furnishing and general
aircraft engineering activities. Define and document technical
product roadmaps involving pilot interfaces, defining new features,
technical research, competitive analysis, writing system
design/description documentation and creating associate software
change requests. Define, design, and test operational behavior of
the flight deck, from the early conceptual phase to supporting
airplanes after entry into service. Provide advance design, new
product development, special customer requests, and product
improvement projects as required. Support the Design Team in
building and refining design concepts. Coordinate and communicate
with engineering teams to ensure optimal user concentrated designs.
Review and approve technical design drawings to ensure compliance
with engineering specifications and regulations. Assist with FAA
certification, including report writing for test plans, test
results, analysis reports, and compliance certification reports.
Ensure that all designs meet crashworthiness and cabin safety
requirements. Make recommendations to design leads and
management.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering,
Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field or the
foreign degree equivalent and three years of experience in
mechanical/interior design for commercial aircraft.
Experience must include three years of experience in each of the
following:
--- Performing flight deck and cabin ergonomics and human factors
evaluations;
--- Working under the requirements of CFR 14 Part 23 and/or Part 25
as it pertains to Aircraft Cabin Safety and Crashworthiness;
--- Ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards,
guidance, and regulations;
--- Working with CATIA V5/V6 workbenches and ergonomics evaluation
modules; and
--- Conceptual aircraft development.
Experience may be gained concurrently.
Position full-time, 40 hours per week, with Eviation Aircraft, Inc.
in Arlington, WA.
Salary: $115,000 to $135,000 per year.
