Principal Sourcing Engineer, Director of Silicon Sourcing to join
the Strategic Sourcing team, responsible for driving the Silicon
strategy and performance to achieve the financial and business

Qualifications Required Qualifications Masters degree in Business,
Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related
field AND 6 years experience in procurement, supply chain,
sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
OR Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management,
Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8 years
experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering,
operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent
experience. 6 years industry experience in consumer electronics. 6
years industry experience in negotiating complex contracts and
deals. Demonstrated experience developing and nurturing key
stakeholder relationships, including proficiency in storytelling
and influencing skills. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in
Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science,
or related field AND 5 years experience in procurement, supply
chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related
roles OR Masters degree in Business, Supply Chain Management,
Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8 years
experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering,
operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelors degree in
Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science,
or related field AND 12 years experience in procurement, supply
chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related
roles OR equivalent experience. 6 years industry experience in
consumer electronics in the semiconductor and silicon space.
Experience in Chipset or Wireless sourcing or sales. Sourcing
Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across
the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different
range applicable to specific work locations, within the San
Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the
base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 -
$294,000 per year. Microsoft will accept applications for the role
until May 7, 2025. Responsibilities Own the supply chain and
sourcing activities for Microsoft Devices Chipset including
negotiating commercial agreements, negotiating cost, optimizing the
collaboration between the teams and developing long term strategy
to grow a robust partnership. Engage with cross-functional
leadership including architecture, engineering, product management,
and business teams to determine best design solution and supply
base to deliver that solution at optimal supply chain and cost.
Manage contracting activities with Legal and ensure contracts
reflect appropriate business terms, IP protection, etc. Cost and
operations management: Build multi-sourcing strategies to mitigate
risk and drive appropriate competition. Analyze the overall supply
chain to identify risk and drive resolution to systemic issues
affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-times. Provide thought
leadership and manage strategic initiatives with internal
stakeholders and suppliers to support Microsoft Devices objectives
and strategies. Manages the supplier relationship, leading and
coordinating efforts to drive supplier performance improvement
across all areas of the business.
