The Rockwell Collins Interior Systems Summer Intern Program affords students the ability to: * Access and work with state-of-the-art equipment * Learn and gain practical experience in a hands-on environment * Work on projects and programs currently in progress at Rockwell Collins Interior Systems, which allows the intern to apply knowledge that contributes to the overall business * Earn a competitive salary during the program * Housing assistance (if applicable) * Gain possible future employment JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Member of the engineering team and work within the engineering swim lane finding solutions to Engineer Change Requests (ECR). * Implementing ECR technical solutions in NX both in modeling and drafting ensuring model is within proper standards and all tolerance stack up are performed. * Work with Engineering team to build prototypes. * Host design reviews presenting to Integrated Product Team (IPT), discuss design solutions, take notes, and update designs based on design review feedback. * Create Engineering Change Notices (ECN) documenting solutions. * Engage with the Engineering Test departments to understand all test requirements. * Engage with Manufacturing to comprehend how parts are built to ensure manufacturability of design. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Minimum GPA of 3.0 * Completion of sophomore year * Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program for the Fall 2019 semester in related field (BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering) * Available for a 12 week commitment between May - August 2019. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * 3D modeling experience. * Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
