Job Description - senior business development manager - International Business (210000573) senior business development manager - International Business ( Job Number: 210000573 ) Location US-WA-Seattle Starbucks - Sales and Account Management Now Brewing --- senior business development manager - International Business #tobeapartner Job Summary and Mission This job contributes to Starbucks success by supporting the establishment of new international business partnerships and other investment opportunities which support Starbucks International Business, Global Channel Development, and Global Coffee & Tea.

  • Leads and supports new market development, equity restructuring transactions, and cross-functional integrations. Assesses new markets / venture opportunities (acquisitions/divestitures). Advises leaders on negotiation strategies and appropriate courses of action.
  • Leads market assessments and the development of improvement strategies and helps facilitate execution
  • Leads and supports multi-channel strategy development at a region, market, and functional level.
  • Works closely with region/market teams, providing cross-functional leadership on high priority projects. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles. Summary of Key Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: - Challenges and inspires partners to achieve business results - Communicates Starbucks culture, mission, and business model to business partners to build strong relationships with external partners. - Participates in the execution of equity investment or restructuring projects, leads the strategic evaluation and financial valuation work. - Participates in training and development of partners directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions. - Provides coaching, direction, and leadership support to team members in order to achieve partner, business, and customer results. - Supports communication, coordination, and alignment with senior management, regional team, Public Relations, Investor Relations, and other key project stakeholders. Contributes strategic advice to senior management on active negotiation strategies. Recommends appropriate courses of action and related contingency plans. - Leads cross-functional teams and processes for new market transactions with potential new International retail and non-retail partners. Works with regional support center business development teams on key components of potential partner selection, site visits, deal structuring, due diligence, joint business planning, closing, and hand-off. Summary of Experience - Finance or related function 4 years - Investment analysis, valuation, and/or financial modeling 4 years - Cross-functional project management 5 years - Transactions, structuring, due diligence, joint ventures, strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, and licensing experience 2 years (preferred) - International business experience 2 years - Cross borders transactions and/or multi-national finance experience 2 year - Experience leading large cross-functional projects 4 years Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Ability to lead via influence, persuasion, negotiation, and effective communications - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to apply sound business principles and practices to project management and change management processes - Ability to deal with ambiguity and drive a team toward clarity of mission and structured toward achievement - Ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly-changing environment - Advanced financial modeling skills - Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop relationships across all levels - Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based applications - Ability to work cross-culturally - Advanced financial and accounting knowledge, with strong financial analysis and planning skills and understanding of commercial evaluation metrics - Ability to present to all levels of internal and external management - Broad business knowledge and understanding of multiple business disciplines, including Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain and Operations - Advanced multi-project management and cross-functional team leadership abilities Core Competencies Customer Focus - Delivers legendary service that meets and exceeds all customers' expectations Ethics and Integrity - Adheres to Starbucks values, beliefs, and principles during good and bad times Composure - Remains calm, maintains perspective and responds in a professional manner when faced with tough situations Personal Learning - Takes personal responsibility for the continuous learning of new knowledge, skills and experiences Dealing with Ambiguity - Able to successfully function during times of uncertainty and changing priorities Decision-Making - Makes timely and quality decisions based on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment Interpersonal Savvy - Builds effective relationships with all people; up, down, and sideways, inside and outside of Starbucks Results-Oriented - Gets results and achieves goals
