Join one of the fastest growing groups at Moss Adams and start realizing your potential.Individuals who thrive at Moss Adams exhibit the following success skills - Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Executive Presence, Growth Mindset, Intellectual Curiosity, and Results Focus.Responsibilities:Work as a firm-wide resource as part of a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated M&A professionals to assist strategic and private equity clients in delivering both buy-side and sell-side SALT due diligence and structuring servicesOversee timely advice, reporting, communication and delivery of SALT M&A due diligence and structuring services to clients, including technical aspects of state and local income/franchise taxes, gross receipts, excise, sales/use and other similar taxes, employment taxes, property taxes, and unclaimed propertyIdentify and analyze tax risks and opportunities while advising on SALT matters related to alternative tax strategies for acquisition, disposition, and restructuring of businessesAssist with the review and analysis of purchase agreements, merger agreements and opinion letters from a SALT perspectiveAct as an additional resource within SALT practice to develop and oversee income/franchise tax and/or sales/use or other indirect or specialty SALT services to drive growth in the marketplace for SALT servicesDevelop and train staff and manager-level team members and provide effective leadership as a career advisor, mentor and supervisor over professional staffLeverage technical knowledge and experience to provide effective project management; delivering timely and responsive services and products that meet or exceed client expectationsAssists with proposals and business development, including marketing materials and web-based marketing initiativesParticipate and lead in business development and growth in SALT and Tax Specialty ServicesWrites and/or co-authors state and local tax articles for publicationQualifications:Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in accounting, finance or related field preferred; Master's Degree in taxation or JD/LLM preferredCPA, bar membership or equivalent credential required. If not certified, must meet educational requirements to obtain license upon hire in state of employmentMinimum of 7 years of related tax experience required; public accounting experience preferredPrevious experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on state and local tax issues required, with 2+ years performing SALT M&A services strongly preferred; creative problem solverMust be a highly motivated self-starter and have previous experience handling multiple engagements simultaneouslyExperience with multi-state income, sales/use, gross receipts, property, employment or other miscellaneous state and local taxesExperience providing leadership and management over professional staff -Prior success in leading key business development, project delivery and practice development activities preferredDemonstrate success to the firm around practice development, providing thought leadership and meeting target sales goals by having an established network and participating in various market facing activities, such as industry presentations, webcasts, professional networking events, etc.Experience in serving mid-market clients preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Ability to travel as needed, up to approximately 20%Moss Adams is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
