education.Our Science Education (SciEd) pre-baccalaureate education
programs for high school students, undergraduates, and secondary
science teachers leverage the expertise of an exceptional faculty
and support staff to engage underrepresented high school and
college students in biomedical research. Our programs provide
access opportunities, resources, and support to affect systemic
educational change. -Our -student summer programs and internships
-reach over 130 underrepresented high school and college students
each year. Students join a supportive scientific community, build
networks, and advance their -career/professional goals. An
additional 500 students visit our training labs each school year,
engaging in hands-on labs as part of tours. The -Science Education
Partnership -program provides professional development and support
to teachers reaching 15,000 students/year and has relationships
with over 575 science educators.The SciEd programs fall under the
Office of Education and Training (OET) and the Senior Vice
President for Education. This role reports directly to the Senior
Director, Science Education.This is an interim position until
November 1, 2022.This role works closely with the Senior Director
of SciEd to advance the strategic initiatives of the
pre-baccalaureate programs.Programs: Support initiatives to
strengthen, expand, and deliver pre-baccalaureate programming that
is aligned across pre-baccalaureate training levels and content
areas.Cross-program Integration: Work with SciEd staff to implement
strategic initiatives across Fred Hutch pre-baccalaureate programs,
especially efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Identify operational efficiencies between programs and help develop
