Responsibilities
Job Summary: - -This job is responsible for ensuring the coordination, integration and implementation of innovative nursing care models to improve patient access as well as the vision, strategy and excellence of all Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) nursing practice areas. - Additionally, work includes collaborating with nursing leadership to provide adequate staffing levels to prevent patient referral leakage and to review/utilize innovative staffing models to ensure improved patient outcomes and reduced length of stay. - Work is performed in conjunction with the VMFH Chief Nursing officer and site-based nursing leadership teams in accordance with strategic business objectives, professional standards and applicable regulatory requirements.An incumbent has division-wide visibility, influence and impact and key contacts include senior management at local/national levels, executive/service line management, physician/dyad leaders and multiple cross-functional or cross-organizational teams where diplomacy, situational self-awareness, leadership presence, conflict resolution and consensus-building skills are critical. - Strong change management skills are required as well as the ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external committee/work groups/partners to facilitate timely and effective response to business needs, priorities and opportunities to promote the transition to innovative nursing care models. - An incumbent must be able to conceptualize and apply sound analytical methods in order to understand organizational impacts and address matters of significance to VMFH. - - -Essential Job Functions:

  • Builds a sustainable VMFH culture designed to coordinate, integrate and implement innovative nursing care models to improve patient access and clinical nursing practice.
  • Creates and maintains staffing and care model training tools and related materials designed to assure that staffing team incumbents have the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the standards of performance goals, employee development objectives and all applicable regulatory requirements. -
  • Collaborates with Mission Control, VMMC Transfer Center, Care Coordination and Virtual Services to ensure timely transfer processes.
    Qualifications
    Education/Work Experience RequirementsMaster's degree in a related field, graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and five years of hospital and senior nursing operations experience that includes experience implementing staffing productivity targets and innovative care models and managing throughput and patient referral leakage. -Licensure/CertificationCurrent RN licensure to practice in the state of Washington.National certification in nursing leadership (e.g. NE-BC, NEA-BC, FACHE etc.).Certification in Lean Six-Sigma methodologies or Virginia Mason Production System is highly preferred.
