Role Description
The Key Account Manager manages business development activities for
the company driving sales activities and the acquisition of new
business from key accounts & customers. These will be strategic
accounts as identified by the Sales VP and the KAM will own the
relationship at the highest level within said accounts. The KAM
will work with the Territory Account Managers to increase share of
wallet from these accounts and identify and acquire new key
accounts.
Essential Functions
- Building the business within the region/area using a variety of
sales techniques.
- Seeking opportunities of higher-level sales asset & responsible
for relationships at the highest level regionally (Regional
Commercial Construction and/or Sector Focused)
- Creating, negotiating and closing agreements.
- Sector/End Market focused in activities
- Building relationships with existing clients in an attempt to
increase their current spend.
- Driving peak performance and sales success across the
region.
- You will be instrumental in devising and implementing the
strategy for meeting sales performance targets.
- Leverage market data and analytics to define effective value
propositions
- Act as the connective tissue between regional/area key accounts
and Territory Account Managers to ensure maximum coverage in
multiple territories.
- Coordinate with various departments within the company to
ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely
fashion.
- Mentor and coach Territory Account Managers throughout selling
process
- Be the subject matter expert for end market pursuit (Event,
Industrial etc)
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all USS products and
services
- Identify key projects and opportunities in the region/area from
key accounts and work Territory Account Managers to pursue and
close.
- Produce quotes and orders through Salesforce.com
- Documenting sales activities and leveraging business
intelligence through Salesforce.com
- Work closely with Sales VP and Director of Sales to create
regional/area strategy for Key Account identification.
- Attending relevant industry events and conferences to build
business.
- Champion, demonstrate, and uphold our values: Easy, Safe, &
Clean.
Qualifications
- Strong PC proficiency (Microsoft Office, CRM, etc.)
- New business development

- Relevant industry background gained from a competitor or
company in a related industry preferred.
- Proven sales professional who is used to working to
targets.
- Proven track record in sales, business development and winning
new business.
- Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of
leads.
- Show an understanding of the challenges facing the industry at
present and illustrate a knowledge of the operational attention to
detail that will be required to succeed within the industry.
- Valid Driver's License and proof of current automobile
