Job Description:

UMC Mukilteo, WA General Position Summary: Manages the Operations team in Mechanical Services Group (MSG) including safety, policies & procedures, staffing, career development, and job satisfaction. Responsible for achievement of the annual MSG Plan and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Essential Job Functions:1. Achieve MSG Annual Plan by managing all Operations based KPI's.2. Provide Safety Supervision & support for all for all MSG Field Technicians & MSG Foreman with the goal of avoiding recordable injuries. Ensure compliance with all company Safety policies & procedures (zero tolerance).3. Provide support of technical and on-site training for all MSG Operations personnel and evaluate performance annually to create a development plan for each. Oversee / monitor timely completion of performance reviews (by the Leads) of all MSG Technicians annually.4. Perform a monthly review of all completed MSG jobs to ensure labor & material budgets are being met. Provide a monthly report (estimate vs. actual) & meet with the Facility Services Group (FSG), Director to review. 5. Ensure all Technicians are utilizing the Service Field Proposal to develop, propose & obtain written approval of all Recommended Repairs (6. Ensure completion of all S/A inspections within the scheduled month and allotted time and material budgets.7. Review MSG KPI's monthly & provide ongoing feedback / suggestions for improvement.8. Keep MSG Foremen informed of policies & procedures, personal performance and goals of the company. Support ongoing development of the Foremen in their customer communication skills. 9. Perform random "quality checks" for Key / Strategic customers and of the MSG Foremen's assigned customers. Monitor and respond to excessive customer callbacks and call activity while keeping the Director informed.10. Develop and approve all On-Call schedules and changes. Approve all Technician / Foremen vacation time so as to provide adequate coverage at all times.11. Ensure adequate manpower and crew mix to accomplish current work & work being developed by requested dates. Keep Director advised regarding needs and performance of all Technicians.12. Forecast annual additional Technician needs by level & trade 13. Identify, recruit and hire new Field Technicians as required to keep up with our growing workload. Provide oversight of orientation and coordinate outfitting (vehicles & tools).14. MSG Fleet Management: Develop, forecast & manage annual MSG vehicle purchases & outfitting while working with the Director.15. Facilitate & support excellent Technician / Foremen communication across all of MSG.16. Collaborate with the Customer Service Managers, Service Account Executives, Business Development Representatives & Service Project Managers with regards to new & existing customer opportunities/issues. Report all issues/complaints to the Director immediately. 17. Monitor and Manage the Field unapplied time (Field Productivity) to meet/exceed established KPI. Skills Required to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:1.Extensive mechanical knowledge with a minimum of ten (10) years of mechanical service industry experience.2. Extensive safety knowledge with a minimum of ten (10) years of mechanical service industry experience.3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.4. Excellent interpersonal skills.5.
