The Position Builds relationships, and differentiates Novo Nordiskproducts in the marketplace, with targeted accounts thatinfluence patient access and care. Targets include a range ofinfluential stakeholders and decision makers, including but notlimited to: Payers/Regional PBMs, Health Systems with alignedPayers, Municipalities, Coalitions, Specialty Pharmacy, FederalAgencies and Employers, as defined by the role. Accountactivities include, but are not limited to, formularyplacement/consideration for Novo Nordisk products, integratingoverall Novo Nordisk Inc (NNI) brand and corporate awarenessacross the customer's organizational structure. Relationships This position reports into a Director or Senior Directorwithin the Area Market Access Team. Internally, this positionhas the responsibility of informing all appropriate NNIpersonnel of any access changes or updates in account statuswithin targeted accounts, which may impact sales and marketingactivities or other efforts across the organization. Keycollaboration partners include the entire Market Access &Public Affairs Team, PCOR (Pricing, Contracting, Operations andReimbursement), Marketing, Area Commercial Sales Team, MedicalAffairs, Legal & Compliance and Human Resources. Externalrelationships include responsibility for multiple channels andcustomers as outlined in the Purpose of this Job Description.This role also develops productive relationships and maintainscontact with key account personnel, including C-suite executivesand department heads. Additionally, this role maintainsrelationships with other local associations, organizations, andpatient support partners. Essential Functions

  • Masters Product and Disease State Knowledge
    • Demonstrates a clear and thorough understanding oftargeted disease states and their impact on allstakeholders/customers, as well as the full range oftreatment options available and associated clinical outcomes
    • Leverages detailed knowledge of both Novo Nordisk andcompetitor products to communicate effectively andappropriately with key decision makers and influencers anddifferentiate NNI products in alignment with customer andpatient needs and goals
    • Demonstrates Business Acumen
      • Leverages appropriate proactive methods to gather anddemonstrate a thorough understanding of integratedcustomer accounts, customer business models, financialdynamics, marketplace developments, competitivestrategies, healthcare policy and NNI strategies and processes
      • Builds knowledge about national sales and marketingstrategies and learns how to adapt to an Areas uniquemarket dynamics. Observes the changing local and nationalhealthcare environment and adjusts business plans accordingly
      • Coordinates, implements, and follows through on allrelevant account contracts
      • Keeps abreast of all pricing changes and relatedimpact to customer relationships and decision-making
      • Highlights NNI Promotional Review Board (PRB) approvedpatient-centric resources when relevant
      • Builds Business-Relevant Relationships
        • Leverages a network of relationships with internal andexternal stakeholders in order to ensure an aligned,customer-focused approach for the execution of businessplans. This includes, but is not limited to, relationshipswith Sales colleagues to address localized geographicneeds and opportunities
        • Identifies key stakeholders who impact relevantcustomer accounts
        • Develops plans to gain access to, build, maintain andleverage ongoing business-relevant relationships
        • Maintains and keeps customer information currentwithin approved NNI CRM platform(s)
        • Develops and Executes Business Plans
          • Identifies business opportunities based on anunderstanding of customers across geography
          • Develops business plans, with leadership guidance,that facilitate access to the NNI portfolio
          • Engages with cross-functional teams to ensurealignment around opportunities and integrated customeraccount approaches
          • Follows-up with internal and external stakeholders toreview product value, quality of care and account satisfaction Physical Requirements 30-40% overnight travel required; Driver must maintain avalid driver's license. Must be in good standing by notexceeding the Novo Nordisk points threshold assigned based onreview of Motor Vehicle Records. Qualifications
            • A Bachelor's Degree required
            • Master's Degree in business-relevant field preferred
            • Previous experience as a people manager preferred
            • At least 5 years pharmaceutical/biotech / healthcareindustry experience required
            • At least 1 year successful account management or otherrelevant experience within the healthcare market; relevantNovo Nordisk experience may be substituted, where appropriate
            • Multiple channel and customer experience preferred
