Job DescriptionJob DescriptionA Technical Program Manager is part of a key team of Technology professionals managing technical programs that deliver significant business value to Nordstrom and its customers. This role partners with Engineering leadership along with internal and external stakeholders to develop, design, build, and deploy technology solutions. You will be responsible for and involved in the end-to-end quality of what is released; requirements, solutioning, and delivery. This position interacts with people in both business and technical roles to create specifications and resolve issues with an eye toward continuous improvement. You will work across departments and functional lines on a variety of programs that range in scope, risk, and complexity!The Nordstrom Product Platform organization is reimagining how Nordstrom sets up products and items before they are made available to customers for shopping. The challenges include dealing with large datasets, owning, and delivering enablement of new business functionalities working with various partners in the company. The Product Lifecyle team is seeking a Technical Program Manager Sr to support the engineering team as we intensify the pace of innovation and move toward future growth through technology solutions. You will be working across multiple teams within PCCH Product Platform and will partner with engineering and product teams to deliver key metrics, telemetry and KPIs of the full Product Lifecycle for one of North America's top fashion retailers.As a Technical Program Manager Sr, you will interact with people in both business and technical roles to create specifications and resolve issues with an eye toward continuous improvement. This role is responsible for delivering programs and systems that have the most complex requirements, highest risk, and broadest dependencies. The role often requires influence across organizations.A day in the life...Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Manage programs of high impact, risk, and complexity while building and executing integrated plans across multiple teamsCollaborate with Product Management and technology teams across the organization to identify, size, and prioritize solutions to build and deliver on a roadmapTranslate customer experience into technical requirements and product solutionsUnderstand the product, features, and business values and help set priorities, goals, and deliverables for engineering teamsDefine and analyzes metrics that measure and benchmark product successHelp resolve technical blocking issues and coordinates solutions across multiple technical teamsCollaborate with Product Management on the vision of the company, break down Epics into User stories that are well written for engineering teams to be actionableWork with engineering manager and lead engineering teams to ensure speed and quality of deliveryParticipate in design (as applicable) to ensure requirements are metPresent demos, status updates, risk/mitigation strategies and own communication to leadershipPossess strong knowledge of technology (i.e. Cloud, APIs, event streams, open source, database, etc.)Manage risks, assumptions, dependencies, resource planning, forecasting of workProactively looks for opportunities to improve processes, quality, and efficiencyManage vendor relationships with third party companiesHelp engineering teams achieve higher level of maturity and self-organizationStrong communication, interpersonal, and mentorship skillsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesHands on experience writing user stories, refining backlog and coordinating and prioritizing conflicting requirementsAbility to understand complex business and technical issuesAbility to plan for and review technical programming specifications Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities Strong verbal and written communications skillsConsistently uses communications skills to influence outcomes Ability to influence others without authority to get things done in a timely fashion Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines QualificationsA 4-year degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience3+ years of Program Management experience3 + years of demonstrated successful program deliveryAgile, Lean, and Kanban delivery process experienceWe've got you covered...Our employees are our most important asset and that's reflected in our benefits.
