Your Job: As a Product Line Manager I - Blue Line, you will be part of the innovation team where you will think outside the box and develop skills to bring products and concepts to market as quickly as possible. You will represent the consumer in the execution of Blue Line and Elite Athlete-specific projects, thereby bringing compelling full shoe concepts, elite athlete products, and stories to market. You will work closely with other members of the BlueLine team, elite athletes, and cross-functional innovation team members to help inform future technology innovations. You will work with teams to conduct runner and athlete research, based on which you will define clear objectives, and scopes, and discover unique opportunities to build beautiful and delightful solutions that will shape the future of running. Your approach and point of view starts and ends with the runner; your sweet spot is the intersection of feasibility, viability, and desirability, crafting and telling inspiring stories, and bringing those stories to life through the products and concepts brought to market. Your Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Run-Sight Lab to learn how to conduct empathy research with runners to mine for latent needs. Be actively involved in the project synthesis and identify key insights and unmet needs that apply to Blue Line projects or vice versa.
  • Work closely with elite athletes to gain insights into the benefits and key competitive edges they are seeking to motivate, shape, and validate concepts, ideas, and theories throughout the creation process.
  • Assist the Senior Manager PLM - Blueline/PLM II/Sr. PLM to write up one-pagers, innovation, and collaborative briefs associated with Blue Line projects and athlete-specific product
  • Craft sub-stories for the individual projects worked on so that they feed into the overall seasonal or umbrella stories within Blue Line and Athlete product
  • Work with In-line Product Line Management on monitoring sell-in, sell-through, market acceptance, and postmortem learnings to guide the transition of technology into in-line programs and inform next-generation technology development
  • Manage all the World Athletics submissions of New shoes or Development Shoes and work with Sports Marketing to effectively communicate the approval of the same with expediency and accuracy.
  • Lead all the FlexPLM data entry for all BlueLine and Athlete product for each season where new product is planned to be introduced.Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Innovation, Product Marketing, Design Research, Consulting, or equivalent is preferred
    • 3+ successful years of experience creating cutting-edge, high-performance product, and innovative technology projects or services. Product Management, Development, or Design experience preferred.
    • Possess an Entrepreneurial spirit by relentlessly striving to make products and services better for runners, and desire to work in a fast pace quickly changing collaborative environment.
    • Proven ability to lead and influence in a collaborative, cross-functional, matrixed group to meet strategic objectives
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an advanced ability to communicate new ideas, concepts, and functional expertise within project teams and to external stakeholders
    • Excellent social skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company.
    • Keen attention to detail in planning, organization, and execution of tasks (self and through others), while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all of the pieces fit together and affect one another.
    • Ability to anticipate how a decision made can affect our customers, our partners, our products, or other departments' operations and/or morale; "connecting the dots."
    • Demonstrates strong presentation abilities. Able to captivate an audience, simplify complexity, and inspire internal and external audiences to embrace the future.
    • Demonstration of innovation and initiative - Curious and open-minded: always open to a challenge. Ability to challenge the status quo - always looking at improving our products and processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details.
    • Must be able to work virtually across multiple time zones
    • Passionate participation in Brooks' sports activities is a plus, overridden by the ability to understand and empathize with the runner in order to develop loyal, engaging relationships with our customers and the Brooks community.
