Director of Portfolio Allocation and Channel Management The Director of Portfolio Allocation & Channel Management is the lead orchestrator within the Central Portfolio Management team. This highly visible and collaborative role will work closely with the Portfolio Leaders, Director of Risk Management, Domestic & International Sales Leads, and the Director of Supply Chain Planning to ensure Darigold is maximizing and routing milk to the highest returning sale. Simultaneously, The Director of Portfolio Allocation & Channel Management will complement the portfolio team and global sales network to ensure Darigold's forward sales book reflects the desired product mix and optimal contracting strategy. The Director of Portfolio Allocation & Channel Management will have an entrepreneurial mindset, seeking to ensure assets are utilized optimally while minimizing risk to the cooperative.What You Will Do

  • Ensure Darigold's systems and processes develop at pace to support the central portfolio management framework and forward-looking model
  • Responsible for turning learned insights into deliverable action across channels, and communicating the success and limitations of past performance
  • Collaborate with the Director of Risk Management to actively identify and mitigate financial risk, enabling meaningful and action-orientated discussions between Risk Management, Planning and Sales
  • Utilize risk management developed tools, guidelines, initiatives, and solutions to support the business in determining key strategic needs and informed decision making
  • Owner and executor of assigned global trade and tender relationships
  • Be a champion for Central Portfolio Management and its importance within the organization. Educate and coach internal and external customers as required
  • Sell and develop various structured products that improve Darigold's risk balance, enable it to monetize its risk infrastructure, and achieve financial targets
  • Work with internal traders to understand bid/ask curves to integrate supply chain planning into asset-backed optimization strategiesEmbody the values of Darigold:Leadership

          • Bachelor's Degree: MBA preferred
          • 8+ years' experience related to commodity merchandising, portfolio management, risk management, dairy, energy, chemicals, petroleum refining or similar commercial experience preferred
          • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, General Business, Finance or similarNice to Have's
            • Commercial dairy industry experience with a strong knowledge of markets, products, and customers, and future trends in the industry, market and factors impacting the cooperative. Exuding commercial acumen with strategic agility and discipline
            • Ability to negotiate under pressure on high-value opportunities, understanding and developing BATNAs
            • Knowledge of financial and physical portfolio management on a global level
            • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
            • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, highly accurate and detail focused
            • Must be organized with time management skills possessing a continuous improvement mindset
            • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers
            • Possess entrepreneurial spirit, find ways to enhance efficiencies in the business to improve customer experience and lead dairy forward.
