Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.This role will lead an engineering team responsible for the design and development of flight engines. You should be creative, curious, driven, and people-focused. Managers must lead by example, always be willing and able to dive deep into technical issues, and prioritize empowering their team to be innovative and self-sufficient. You will work with the Engine Design Office to establish technical standards, develop process expectations, and champion processes that improve the team's performance.To be successful in this role, you will need to be self-directed, balance several tasks at one time, and communicate effectively. Excellent understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, configuration management, and the ability to work multi-functionally to align engineering skills with program needs is a must. A manager's job, above all else, is to grow and develop their team.Passion for our mission and vision is required!Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree or higher
  • 8+ years of demonstrated ability as an individual contributor performing aerospace or spaceflight design with CAD in a PLM environment (Creo and Windchill preferred).
  • 5+ years of proven experience in leading design teams and projects.
  • Experience defining and detailing technical design standards and best practices.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:
    • Master's in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering field.
    • Fluid and structural design experience for liquid propulsion systems.
