The UW School of Pharmacy Department of PHARMACEUTICS has an outstanding opportunity for an Project Manager to manage administrative and fiscal operations for the UW Targeted and Long-acting Combination Anti-Retroviral Therapeutic (TLC-ART) Program and the Washington Entrepreneurial Research Evaluation and Commercialization Hub (WE-REACH).

Project Manager duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

• Draft, monitor, and report budgets for federal grants with the NIH and international grants with Unitaid
  
• Lead fiscal administration and payroll for TLC-ART and WE-REACH
  
• Project management for research in the TLC-ART lab and for WE-REACH funded teams
  
• Coordinate between administrative and academic departments that manage UW grants including the School of Pharmacy (SOP), CoMotion, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), Grants, Contracts, & Accounting (GCA), and The Office of Research (OR)
  Select external Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) suppliers, Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), Contract Research Organizations (CROs), and consultants such as the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI)
  
• Assist with grant writing and editing
  
• Participate in and organize TLC-ART program Executive and Leadership Committee meetings along with annual External/Scientific Advisory Board meetings
  
  Requirements:
  
  
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Social Sciences AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience
  
  
• Strong accounting and budget administrative background
  
• Highly organized with superb attention to detail and ability to see projects through to completion
  
• At least three years' experience in a role developing complex budgets, performing fiscal management, or submitting grants to federal funders
  
• Background in health, medical sciences, or pharmaceutical sciences
  
• Creative problem solving skills
  
• Work experience in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple demands, establish priorities, and meet firm deadlines on complex projects
  
• High degree of professionalism and diplomacy; ability to work across disciplines and cultures while remaining personable, professional, and organized under stressful situations
  
• Good judgment and interpersonal skills with proven ability for effective cross-cultural communication
  
  Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
  
  Desired Experience:
  
  
• Certification in or verified experience with accounting, project management
  
• Experience working with academic researchers on complex grant project management and reporting to funders
  
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  
• Familiar with UW and/or federal regulations and compliance
  
• Familiarity with UW administrative systems (Ariba, MyFD, Astra)
