We are a growth oriented organization, dedicated to providing our current and prospective customers with the best available legal education materials.We are currently seeking an attorney for the position of West Academic Account Manager for the Pacific Northwest region. The Account Manager is a field-based position responsible for: securing new law school faculty adoptions of West Academic products; retaining existing adoptions; raising awareness, providing support, and increasing engagement of digital West Academic products; and promoting West Academic's digital store. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the consultative sales approach and an ability to develop a deep knowledge of both print and digital West Academic products and the legal education market. The Account Manager for the Pacific Northwest territory could reside within San Francisco/Bay Area, Portland, OR, or Seattle, WA.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Increase revenue and facilitate subscription, adoption, and usage of West Academic products in assigned schools.
  • Travel to visit regional law school faculty, administrators, and libraries to promote West Academic print and digital products.
  • Maintain relationships with professors, administrators, librarians, and other key contacts throughout the year.
  • Represent West Academic at academic conferences.
  • Gather and report actionable information on competitive landscape, market trends, curriculum, product feedback, and other notable business information.
  • Facilitate regular and comprehensive contact with all faculty and administrators at assigned schools.
  • Maintain product knowledge.
  • Manage adoption opportunity pipeline.
  • Support faculty in the use of digital products.
  • Maintain database with customer information in territory.
  • Achieve territory sales and adoption goals while working within expense budget.Required Minimum Qualifications:
    • J.D. (law degree) required.
    • Direct sales experience, knowledge of academic adoption concepts and methods, and/or other academic publishing sales experience preferred but not essential.
    • Experience or demonstrated aptitude for promoting and supporting digital subscription-based products.
    • Professional demeanor and appearance.
    • Valid driver's license.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
      • Effective oral and written communication skills
      • Working knowledge of law school curriculum
      • Ability to be a self-starter with a high level of motivation
      • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other software or internet applications
      • Ability to interpret market needs and communicate effectively to other sectors of business
      • Ability to operate effectively in both a remote office and law school environmentWorking Conditions:Remote/home office environment may require some bending, lifting, walking, and sitting. This position requires an extensive amount of consistent travel by car, air, or rail as appropriate, and overnight hotel stays.
