WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Regional Lead Production Manager will lead the regional
production team for an established global technology company. This
key role is responsible for:
- overseeing the day-to-day operations, coordination, and
execution of all onsite and hybrid events;
- partnering with the internal events, client, and event
management teams to collaborate on event support needs;
- maintaining and troubleshooting all aspects of the client
studio and event facilities;
- managing the VideoLink staff within the assigned region;
and
- providing direct event coordination support for assigned events
as needed. DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Management
- Oversee the regional team responsible for providing
high-quality and customized live event experiences through
professional quality video, audio, lighting, and presentation to
allow the client and external partners to connect and communicate
their message in a distinct and technologically innovative way to
colleagues and customers alike.
- Serve as the first-tier escalation point of contact for all
regional service needs with the client team.
- Implement the creation and distribution of all documented
processes and workflows to all team members to establish consistent
best practices.
- Implement regional preventative maintenance procedures and
facility plans to ensure locations remain operationally ready.
- Support the assessment and recommendation of solutions about
functionality of studio and event spaces based on operational
requirements and event scope.
- Develop and provide key factors analysis report to manager on a
quarterly basis. Team Management
- Ensure consistency of service delivery and execution of events
across all locations.
- Implement training program to develop personnel and ensure they
have the skillset and knowledge to effectively perform their roles
and provide recommendations and opportunities for advancing
capabilities.
- Ensure minimum staffing levels are always met and oversee the
development of contingency and backfill plans including freelancer
pool development and training in local markets to ensure no
interruption to service.
- Assess current processes and personal performance and hold
review with personnel inclusive of corrective measures as
necessary.
- Ensure maximum utilization of internal employees and
resources.
- Partner with appropriate AVI-SPL or AVI-SPL VideoLink
colleagues for the hiring, onboarding (and offboarding when
appropriate), and orientation of all new personnel. Production
Management
- Collaborate with events team on technical broadcast approach
and design of productions for assigned location.
- Manage and maintain the production schedule for assigned
location including staff and resource allocations.
- Conduct weekly production meetings to assess project progress
and identify issues, provide guidance, and ensure coverage of all
upcoming events.
- Perform post-mortems of events to analyze what went right, what
went wrong, and make recommendations for future improvements.
- Oversee monthly budget for all event production ad hoc costs
and communicate with client stakeholders on operational costs.
Production Coordination
- Meet with requestors to plan and review event needs and provide
recommendations on production enhancements to execute on event
vision.
- Coordinate the technical production needs for all events and
ensure requirements are in full compliance with established
policies and procedures.
- Facilitate equipment rental and other supplemental production
requirements.
- Manage all aspects of day of event support including the
coordination of all event resources.
- Ensure fully quality check and optimization of facility, event
assets, and experience prior to production.
- Assist with presenter preparation including direction,
facilitating rehearsal and other pre-event needs.
- Oversee postproduction needs including basic editing and
delivery of recordings.
- Organize event metrics and feedback and provide recommendations
on areas for improvement.
- Serve as requestor's main point of contact from initial
exploratory call through live day.
- Fill in necessary production crew positions as needed. WHAT
WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have skills & job qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in live event production, event
coordination, broadcast, audio/visual and video production, or
another similar field.
- 3+ years of experience in:
- leading, mentoring, and developing teams across multiple
locations
- onsite, virtual, and hybrid live events
- database and scheduling management
- coordinating logistics with multiple entities or vendors
- Strong technical knowledge of traditional event production,
broadcast and digital equipment.
- Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude during
high pressure situations.
- Ability to communicate challenging aspects to clients while
maintaining a high level of confidence and leadership.
- Track record of being organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and
working well in a team atmosphere, as well as having the capability
to work well individually, is essential.
- Strong work ethic, self-direction, self-motivation, patience,
persistence, and perspective.
- Excellent collaboration and customer relationship skills with
the understanding of the importance of white glove service.
- Consistent proactive preparation and timely responses to
multiple channels of communication.
- Ability to collect and analyze metrics, extract trending data,
and provide continuous improvement recommendations. Nice-to-have
skills
- Knowledgeable in the operations and technical execution of
video production, audio-visual technology, and event space
facilities.
- Experience in various production roles including but not
limited to technical directing, audio mixing, camera operation, and
editing.
- College degree in video production, broadcasting,
communications, or another similar field. Other requirements
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Travel is required based on requirements and location of
productions and service needs including meetings at client offices
