Summary Posted: Aug 22, 2023 Role Number:200495318 As a leader of the Product team within AIML, you will play a significant role in the future of machine learning at Apple. Working with top-tier engineering and product teams, you will be driving the creation of platforms and technologies to build the highest quality ML-driven user experiences, with the strongest privacy guarantees in the industry. We're seeking a Product Management leader who can establish teams with strong product, program, and multi-functional leadership skills to deliver new features and technology. This team accelerates the adoption of machine learning in Apple products and ecosystems by leading all aspects of Apple's ML platform, used by both Apple's internal and external developers. We support ML engineers and scientists through technologies that combine the latest in ML innovation and deep integration with Apple silicon and infrastructure, unlocking the creation of customer experiences that surprise and delight! Key Qualifications 10+ years in a role leading cross-functional teams in technical product development (e.g. Product Management or Engineering Management). Proven track record of delivering large-scale engineering products or platforms involving machine learning, data processing, and data analytics tools at the Internet scale, including experience with ML training (e.g. train/test, evaluation, measurement), data processing pipelines, large-scale and high-throughput backend services, or user-facing applications that use those services and deliver measurable business or product value. Ability to engage with business partners, translate needs into technical roadmaps, and deliver and effectively communicate and partner with executive stakeholders. Experience building, motivating, and leading impactful teams of product and technical program managers. Passionate about delivering the best user experience to internal users by actively surveying user needs and translating requirements into a feature roadmap Ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, make recommendations, and drive actions Ability to clearly articulate product vision, and influence (and pivot) engineering direction based on that vision. Self-motivated, independent, and proactive; validated creative and critical thinking capabilities; can quickly (real-time) triage, prioritize, and lead cross-functional teams under pressure Effective and clear communication and presentation abilities, written and verbal Highly developed strive to improve how things work, with a track record of driving improvements for team quality, performance, agility, or efficiency Description You will be responsible for driving the vision and development of that roadmap for Apple, partnering across Apple, and delivering some of the most ambitious capabilities for driving machine-learned features on Apple hardware (including opening up the boundaries on privacy-first machine learning). Education & Experience BS/MS/PhD EE/CS/CE or equivalent Additional Requirements - M.S. or Ph.D. degree with a focus in computer science, machine learning, data mining, or statistics - Prior PM or engineering experience in Machine Learning training or inference technologies. - Past senior manager level or above management experience at a top technology company Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $241,000 and $424,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
