Job Summary and Mission

Company is seeking a Director of Acquisition Marketing to lead a team of performance driven marketers in the growth of the Company marketable universe to drive the business and enhance and evolve the customer experience. The role will be responsible for defining the strategic acquisition marketing plan and operationalizing the strategies end-to-end across all channels. The Director will lead a direct team in delivery of the acquisition strategies and tactics, will manage the strategic planning and budget, and will work collaboratively with cross functional teams including customer insights, analytics, marketing operations, store operations and technology to ensure strategic and tactical continuity. The candidate should be passionate about the Company customer experience and should be skilled in understanding the value of customer acquisition by solving customer problems and exceeding expectations throughout the customer journey. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans, annual operating plans, and to lead teams to deliver on that vision is mandatory.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

MARKETING STRATEGY : Develop annual plan for acquisition strategy to grow Company marketable universe across customer segments; partner with cross functional teams including finance, marketing operations, technology to quantify plan to annual goals. Develop the customer acquisition journey including messaging, channel strategy, customer segmentation and optimization opportunities across channels including, but not limited to, in-store, owned digital channel(s) (owned/earned), paid digital (testing, segmentation, etc.) and external partnerships. Size acquisition tactics and outcomes of evolved marketing communications and technology systems to help achieve desired business and customer objectives. Leverage understanding of competitive marketplace and marketing technology to maximize acquisition opportunity and improve customer experience. Inform future development roadmaps and technology/platform investment decisions with well-informed business requirements. Work with Media team to leverage paid digital media, social, search, etc. to drive acquisition; manage paid media acquisition budget to KPIs and ROI. Work cross functionally to develop new digital opportunities to drive acquisition including, but not limited to, affiliate programs, referral, eGift, etc. Work with Creative Studio in development of visual identity and brand book for acquisition marketing creative assets; work with studio to increase speed-to-market and to drive efficiency and cost-reduction throughout the creative process. LEADERSHIP : Be a leader on the marketing organization and provide direct leadership to a team of marketers; provide open, honest feedback and conduct regular conversations on individual development opportunities. Develop a team that is performance driven and inspired to work collaboratively; cultivate team morale and motivation Proactively build rapport with peer set; build relationships with cross-functional leaders and peers; communicate and educate cross functional stakeholders on evolving acquisition marketing strategy, customer experience, benefit offering and results. Help to remove barriers and obstacles to improve team efficiency and output. Basic Qualifications 10+ years in strategic marketing role with progressive career growth; Strong preference for loyalty marketing program experience. Experience marketing product or services that span physical and digital transactions/sales a plus. 10+ years managing complex and ambiguous business problems and developing measurable marketing strategies that are accountable to the business. 7+ years of team leadership experience with proven ability to motivate and lead a high-performing team to achieve business goals, increase speed-to-market with judicious management of marketing dollars to drive high ROI. BA/BS Required; MBA Preferred Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong working knowledge of marketing technology, tools and systems that power customer experiences (digital and physical). Expertise in building digital marketing strategies and tactics leveraging paid digital media, affiliate programs, website and app optimization, etc. Strong strategic planning skills and creative critical thinking; ability to think strategically and problem solve, driving towards resolution while taking in and synthesizing a high volume of inputs. Change management skills to aid in organizational optimization and process refinement as customer journey and marketing technology ecosystem are optimized and enhanced. Agency and vendor management, including managing complex contracts, negotiations, and budgets. Strong understanding of marketing trends, innovations, tools, and technologies, stretching digital to physical with an emphasis on retail. Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to translate complex topics into digestible, yet comprehensive demonstrations of strategic output; ability to confidently present objectives and desired outcomes to leadership and functional teams and consistently influence outcomes. Strong ability to navigate organizational and relationship management in a highly matrixed environment; ability to collaborate and lead cross functional teams, while building trust and team equity amongst leadership and peer groups.
