Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations overseeing the program development and delivery of safe, caring, and academically and social-emotionally enriching programs for Launch's preschool and school-age programs. Based in our Georgetown administrative office, this is a senior leadership role that works closely with our program leaders, families and community partners to ensure our success as an organization. Launch is dedicated to leading the charge to brilliant outcomes for the children of our community by ensuring equitable access to the highest quality learning and care. Through our preschool, before & afterschool, and summer programs, we provide equitable access to the highest-quality learning and care in a safe, enriching environment that prepares children for success in school and life. Our programs serve a diverse group of over 1300 children ages 3-12 and are located on-site in 9 Seattle public schools and 3 community centers. Drawing on more than 40 years of experience, we serve as a proven model of effective programming and a passionate advocate for children, families, and communities.What are the responsibilities of this position?Where do we start!? As the Director of Operations, this role is vital to helping Launch achieve our mission. The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:Program Quality - ensure adherence to all licensing, educational and safety requirements; coordinate and implement program quality initiatives such as Youth Program Quality (YPQ), Early Achievers, etc.; evaluate program quality for each of our sites.Leadership - in collaboration with other senior leaders and key stakeholders, drive implementation of long-term strategies to help achieve our mission; partner with the Executive Director and other senior leaders to develop, implement and execute Launch's strategic planCommunity Relations and Advocacy - represent Launch in agency meetings with SOWA, DEEL, SPS, etc., maintain working knowledge of developments and trends in Early Childhood Education, Youth Development and other fields of education-related initiatives.Financial Responsibility - develop the operational budget for Launch's preschool, school-age and summer programs; work with site leadership teams and key stakeholders to ensure programs are financially viable and successful.This position also supervises nine direct reports responsible for site leadership, program quality, enrollment and nutrition. As the direct supervisor, the Director of Operations is responsible for:Leading by example, in accordance with Launch's mission and values.Supporting the growth and development of direct reports through coaching, training and mentorship. This includes providing recognition, feedback, and developmental support on an ongoing basis.What makes this a "leadership position with a purpose"?Great question! You should at least have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or a closely related field; A Master's degree in ECE, Non-Profit Management or a related field is preferred.You'll also need appropriate experience - at least five years of experience in an education leadership position, preferably with experience of both preschool and school-age programs. Your experience should demonstrate a strong understanding of licensing requirements for both types of programs, curriculum development and implementation, budget management, and other key areas of operations.You should also have prior experience effectively managing a team of employees as well as supervisory oversight of a function of business operations.Like us, you're passionate about making a positive impact in our community. You should have a strong understanding about what it is we do at Launch and you personally connect with our mission.You're able to meet the Washington Dept. of Children, Youth and Families requirement to be on-site at our schools, which includes but is not limited to proof of an MMR vaccine, completion a portable background check and proof of a negative TB test.You're OK with an annual salary between $80,000 and $94,000.
