Facility: Harrison Medical CenterDepartment: Emergency DepartmentLocation: Bremerton, WAJob Status: Part-TimeShift: Night shiftHarrison is looking for an ED RN to join our team that will be moving to our NEW HOSPITAL in Silverdale! This 500,000 Square-foot hospital will be the most energy efficient hospital in Washington, and one of the most energy efficient in the US, consuming significantly less water and energy than the average hospital. It will provide beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains and Dyes Inlet. In addition, it will have a healing garden and Clear Creek trail running through the hospital grounds, encouraging walks and community connection as a healing process. Be a part of this ground breaking addition to CHI Franciscan!Job Summary:This position is responsible for providing care for the emergency patients presenting with a wide variety of medical conditions across all populations.Essential Duties:Assess and manage patients with varying acuity and conditions, from minor to urgent, across all populations and age groups.Provide stabilization and emergency care for patients to include special procedures such as: triage; orthopedic splinting; cardiac pacing, cardioversion, and defibrillation; eyes, ears, nose and throat procedures (i.e., Morgen lens insertion, irrigation, nasal packing); wound repair; complex medication administration (to include complex drips); cardio-respiratory resuscitation; gynecological and obstetrical procedures (i.e., precipitous delivery and sexual assault management); multi-system trauma care (i.e., c-spine immobilization, use of auto-transfuser, Level 1 warmer); management of psychiatric emergencies; management of pediatric emergencies; decontamination procedure for biological, chemical, or nuclear exposures.Adheres to the department's and hospital's policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards.Administers, oversees and documents the administration of medications (e.g., topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously and intravenously) as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy.Prepares patient for discharge and assists with coordinating post discharge needs.Cultural Sensitivity and Competence: Demonstrates proper use of available communication tools for effective communication and understands how the culture(s) of patient populations can affect communication, collaboration and the provision of care, treatment and services. Patient Populations Served: Demonstrates knowledge and proper skills associated with the department's defined specific populations served.Demonstrates competent professional practice and engages in opportunities for professional growth. Demonstrates self-accountability to meet stated deadlines for all mandatory requirements.Provides health care education and guidance to patient and their families. Educates regarding results, findings and diagnoses to patient and the patient's family within scope of practice.Job Requirements:Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN PreferredMinimum 6 months previous RN experience required.Previous E.D. experience current within the last 2 years preferred, orCritical care experience, current within the last 2 years preferredCurrent licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (1-month grace period allowed for ACLS if expired).Completion of a NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider) class is required at sites that do not provide labor and delivery services within twelve months of date of hire and must be maintained as current thereafter.Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) within twelve months of date of hire. Certification must be maintained as current thereafter.National Institutes of Health Strokes Scale (NIHSS) certification within six months of date of hire, and maintained as current thereafter.Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification (ENPC) OR Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within twelve months of date of hire.
