full time (100% FTE, 40 hours per week), day shift ASSISTANT NURSE
MANAGER (Registered Nurse 3) to join our Alvord Brain Tumor Center.
The Alvord Brain Tumor Center provides expert and holistic care
that includes a precise diagnosis, a personalized care plan, and a
team of experts who guide patients each step of the way from
consultation to treatment and follow up. The care team includes
neuro-oncologists, neurosurgeons, medical and radiation
oncologists, neuropathologists, oncology nurses, and cancer
specialists who work together to treat all brain and spinal cord
cancers. We offer access to leading edge techniques, technologies
and treatments such as Gamma Knife, proton and photon radiation
therapies, chemotherapies, immunotherapies, and Optune.

The Assistant Nurse manager will work 40 hours per week, Monday -
- Establishes and maintains credibility as leader of day-to-day
operations of the clinic
- Provides leadership for clinical and administrative
- Develops, coordinates, and maintains various work processes
that ensure successful daily clinical function
- Monitors schedules to streamline clinic services
- Promotes effective communication among staff and patients to
assure optimal patient outcomes
- Identifies staff and resource problems and takes necessary
steps toward problem resolutions
- Leads the hiring processes for medical assistants and
- Implements and manages orientation and educational programs for
- Provides expert nursing assessments, assists with phone triage,
and educates patients and their families
- Establishes and maintains safety and emergency protocols for
- Performs Registered Nurse 2 duties as required
- Current license and 2 years of oncology nursing experience; OR
- An active Registered Nurse license in the State of
- Previous charge, lead, or supervisory nursing
- BSN or MSN
- Knowledge of Epic and clinic workflows
- Previous process improvement experience
- 3+ years of either oncology or neurology nursing experience
