Join Harborview Medical Center's teams of outstanding Psychiatry Registered Nurses (RN) Harborview Medical Center is a level one adult and pediatric trauma center as well as regional burn center for a four-state region; a teaching and research hospital for the University of Washington; and a public/safety-net hospital for our diverse community.Current openings for our inpatient Psychiatry units include:Our inpatient units see Adults 18-99 plus.2- acute care floors,Psych Intensive care unit (Psych ICU), andPsych Emergency service (PES)Our acute care floors see patients with a wide range of mental health and medical needs. The primary population on these units have a variety of mental health diagnoses as well as some co-occurring chemical dependency disorders. Nurses should be comfortable caring for patients with chronic and sub-acute medical conditions that may require additional treatment and education. Additionally, we offer DBT skill building and CBT skills group therapy to our patients and it is an asset for our nurses to have this experience.Current shifts being offered on our acute care floors:5WA- available shifts: 60% FTE, Evening shift and hourly/Per diem position available.5WB - available shifts: 90% Night shift and per diem position open.All per diem shift require a 4 shifts per month availabilityOur psych-ICU is a 21-bed unit, with staffing ratios of 2:1. With 24/7 security.Our ICU patient population is primarily involuntary. Our nurses and staff understand de-escalation, seclusion, and restraint techniques. Our staff deal with a broad range of complex mental health and medical diagnosis.The PES unit is a 10-bed unit with 24/7 security.Working on the PES unit is a unique opportunity for a psych nurse looking to take on the challenge of something different every day. Nurses in Psychiatric Emergency Services assist patients who arrive at the Emergency Room in Psychiatric crisis. The nurse's primary task is to maintain a safe environment while patients are assessed, and triaged.Current shifts available:Psych ICU 90% and 60% FTE variable shift.PES available shifts 90% FTE, Night Shift, 90% FTE, Variable position available.REQUIREMENTS:WA state licenseAND12 months in psych nursing OR acute care setting.New grads and change of specialty welcome to apply; (will be considered for acute care floors)Applicants considered for this position will be required to disclose if they are the subject of any substantiated findings or current investigations related to sexual misconduct at their current employment and past employment.
