Medical Group and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Fred Hutchinson
Cancer Center (FHCC, formerly Seattle Cancer Care Alliance) has an
outstanding opportunity for a FULL-TIME CLINICAL ONCOLOGY
PHARMACIST FLOAT (Day Shifts) to support our satellite community
site clinics: FHCC Evergreen, FHCC Northwest, FHCC Overlake and
FHCC Peninsula. The Clinical Oncology Pharmacist (Pharmacist 3) is
responsible for providing direction and leadership to pharmacy
technicians, students, and residents who provide pharmaceutical
care to patients at the FHCC. The Pharmacist will lead the
development and maintenance of safe, timely, efficient, equitable,
effective, and patient-centered pharmacy patient care services.
This position is a mix of dispensing and clinical activities and
will support the infusion services at these clinics as well as oral
chemotherapy monitoring. Successful candidates will possess a
diverse and highly developed skill set including, but not limited
to, time-management, communication, creativity, vision, teamwork,
clinical knowledge base/skills, mentorship, change management,
scholarship and teaching. RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement and monitor
patient medication therapy for achievement of desired therapeutic
outcomes. Maintain accurate medication profiles for patients.
Manage and lead the provision of safe, timely, efficient,
equitable, effective, and patient-centered pharmacy patient care
services. Collaborate with pharmacy managers to ensure safe,
timely, efficient, equitable, effective, and patient-centered
ambulatory pharmacy operations. Assist in the development and/or
maintenance of patient care services and operational policies and
procedures. Maintain knowledge of current clinical issues, industry
practice standards, and accreditation standards and incorporate
them into daily practice. Act as a resource and consultant to
physicians, nurses, and patients regarding potential adverse
reactions, interactions, and proper use and administration of drugs
dispensed. Direct the work of pharmacy staff assigned to the work
area or shift including interns, residents and pharmacy
technicians. Precept students and residents as assigned. Assist in
developing training materials for staff. Actively resolve issues
identified with daily operations and work with other departments to
solve service-related issues when identified. Provide oversight so
that day to day pharmacy operations meet regulatory and
accreditation agency (Joint Commission, Department of Health, and
Board of Pharmacy) requirements. Patient education on chemotherapy
and supportive care Perform all functions of a Pharmacist 2 Perform
other duties and responsibilities as assigned. DESIRED: Expertise
in oncology pharmacy. Prior experience in ambulatory oncology
clinic. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
(English language required) Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint) Knowledge of educational and experiential methods, with
teaching experience preferred; the minimum expectation is a desire
to provide quality educational experience BCOP certification PGY2
oncology residency training Prior experience in using
