The Behavioral Health Specialist actively engages in Mary's Place racial equity work - striving for equitable outcomes and taking responsibility for creating, maintaining, and affirming communities for people of color, immigrants, and refugees, trans and gender-non-conforming people, and other populations who routinely encounter systemic oppressions.The Behavioral Health Specialist will work with the Outreach Team at the Allen Family Center to provide support to the Outreach Team at the Allen Family Center (located in the Mt. Baker neighborhood), 80%, and as needed, in-person, with the Outreach Team, 20%, to families that are experiencing homelessness. The Behavioral Health Specialist position will focus on identifying and providing community resources and linkages of behavioral health and health concerns, provide behavioral health consultation and team support, assist with the agency resource guide, and develop and participate with community partnerships. The Behavioral Health Specialist is a full-time, non-exempt position. The Behavioral Health Specialist reports to the Behavioral Health Manager and does not supervise other staff. The hourly wage is $28.00-30.00 per hour, depending on degree and experience. This position will be based at the Allen Family Center (80%) and Outreach (20%) in the King County area with the Outreach Team. Key Responsibilities - Meet with guests at the Allen Family Center, or telephone, or, video-calls, and outreach with the Outreach Team, to engage and offer referrals and linkage and care management to community behavioral health, healthcare, and other entities as needed. - Provide consultation to the Outreach Team for behavioral health and health concerns, - Provide assistance with referrals and linkages to the Outreach Team. - Maintain the behavioral health resource guide to be utilized by guests and staff. - Develop partnerships with community-based agencies for referral to supportive services - Assist with the on-going training program for staff around best practices in serving guests with complex behavioral health needs - Maintain appropriate records, documentation, statistics, and manage reports. - Other duties as assigned

Skill Qualifications - College degree and two years in relevant work experience; experience in social or homeless services preferred. - Experience with outreach work, and unhoused and homeless population. - Knowledge and experience working with trauma informed and person-centered practices - Strong computer, and documentation skills, including the use of emails, Word, Share Point, Excel, Teams, Microsoft 360, and other platforms. - Will need to have access to a vehicle and be legally allowed to drive in WA State. - Strong understanding of, and commitment to the Mary's Place mission of empowering homeless women, children, and families. Physical Qualifications - The physical demands must be met by an employee - Travel is required to program sites, including encampments, parking lots, and other locations. - Attend meetings outside the office. - The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, type, and reach with hands and arms; and requires the ability to occasionally push, pull, lift and/or carry supplies up to 25 pounds. - Ability to work in an environment where there may be animals present, including dogs.
